He may want to... a dream is always a hard thing to let go of... but is it wise for him to keep playing?
probably not but that's not how 20 year old kids think. he'll start regretting the 20 year old decisions when he's 45.
This story is weird. I thought everyone was on board with retiring and finding AJ a NF role? Now it sounds unilateral by SU."I couldn't even tell you how many (concussions) I possibly had in the last three or four years. And I didn't want to bring them forward because I knew my time would be done."
That is a very telling line. He doesn't know how many he has had, how could any school let this kid play.
Does it make a difference if it was unilateral decision or not? This story is weird. I thought everyone was on board with retiring and finding AJ a NF role? Now it sounds unilateral by SU.
I don't get the difference but ok?I did. Not the same situation. AJ was DQ'ed for concussions suffered on campus, first hand. Luke A. was DQ'ed for a supposed high school concussion history.
No, the weird part to me is that AJ seemed on board, gave that interview and now seems to not be on board.Does it make a difference if it was unilateral decision or not?
As long as the medical findings are sound, I have no problem with SU making a unilateral decision that protects a player's health...whether he likes it or not.
Gotcha...agree, it does seem very strange considering his quote regarding not knowing how many concussions he experienced over time. No, the weird part to me is that AJ seemed on board, gave that interview and now seems to not be on board.

Yes given the state he described himself in. I admit I always found the story a little odd.its weird he changes his mind?

But do they do it after giving a detailed interview about how messed up their head is? And after deciding that he's going to become the best recruiter in the country?he's a kid. changing his mind and wanting to keep playing is pretty standard.
I don't get the difference but ok?
I think you are confusing Arcinega with Tyler Marona, who left the program.Didn't Shafer do the same thing with Arciniega?
