Speaking of statistics. Hughes went 11 straight games ( not including NC State) where he shot 33 pct or worse from the 3 pt line. Overall he was 15-73 in that span. We went 5-7 in that span including the game he was injured.

I also liked Hughes a lot and he did some very nice things but that stretch of play was brutal. He only shot 40 pct combined during that stretch overall as well.

Overall he really struggled for an extended stretch from the outside. His shot selection regressed as well. There is no doubt he is a big loss but I find myself even over rating him a bit despite being one of his biggest fans all year. He was good for us no doubt but I'm not sure that the delta between he and Alan is quite as large as some think.

I mean let's hope the 18 MPG guy from UI can handle all the pressure that comes with playing SF for us right now.

I think people underestimate how much Eli had to do on offense - which at a point may take a toll on a player as opposed to how it may impact spot up shooters...at least when we're talking offensive efficiency, metrics, blah, blah, blah...Especially against teams that played moderately aggressive M2M well.

Like 6th grade me was a HUGE fan of Adrian and Allen Griffen I’m from Boston.

I hope I can get 50-1 on us to win it all when sportsbooks reopen.

I was a big fan of Iowa St Wes Johnson and was dumbfounded when we got him this is an identical situation we’re gonna be really good next year. Sucks Buddy doesn’t get a 5th year to blow the three point record out of the water.

Very pleased with this transfer and Woody Newton’s progression.

Think QG and Bourama continue to progress and allow our offense to play inside out which will be important in challenging ACC defenses.

I do not agree with those saying KR will come in and play equal minutes to Girard.

FIFY
Indeed. Every now and again when I start getting heated up about something I see posted, I stop and take a breath and just think that, regardless of what was posted, we're all SU fans and I would absolutely enjoy watching a game with anyone who takes time out of their day to post on this silly message board.

Figure the listings are all lies.
Not to mention that that there's always a range and we're only talking a few inches in either direction. So one measurement may be in bare feet while the official heights are in shoes. I'm 6'1 - 6'2" in basketball shoes, but probably 5' 11 3/4" bare foot.

I'm 5'10"in skates

why is griffin seen as a forward?

6'5" is pretty small for forward imo...

he seems perfect as a SG.

Griffin didn’t come here to come off the bench as the 3rd guard. Buddy isn’t going to the bench. Griffin isn’t a PG by any stretch, so Joe isn’t going to the bench.

Griffin is a better rebounder than Eli.

Hughes is listed at 6’6 215 as a 22yr old.
Griffin is listed at 6’5 195 as a 19 year old (turned 20 3 days ago). So at 3yrs younger, Griffin is an inch shorter and 20lbs lighter. If Griff can put on weight this offseason he’ll be somewhat close to Eli’s size

And... even if he doesn’t, he’s already a MUCH better rebounder than Eli was, so being ‘bigger’ or 1” “taller” doesn’t really have anything to do with it anyway.

One of the best “small forwards” in program HISTORY was Stevie Thompson.
Who was (in reality) about 6’2”.
...and also a better rebounder than Eli.

About the same, although Stevie had serious springs for a guy his size. I can't remember when an undersized SF was a monster rebounder for us. OB was perfect size (and a very good rebounder).

Eli & OSB didn’t have to fight for boards vs DC, Rony, and Billy Owens like Stevie did.

Paul Harris has a sadz

Of course, half of his boards were probably from his own misses at the rim, but then again, that was also OSB’s strategy too.
;)

I think you're right...but I don't think that makes the best team.

i think guerrier and marek should start.

Griff is almost exactly the same size as Malachi who played the 3 for us. 2 and 3 are essentially interchangeable in our offense.

The hair helped.
