I don't mean this as a pile-on, as you've been gracious on our board for a long time, and in this thread.

But I'm curious to hear your thoughts about Dabo getting COY. I recognize that the universe doesn't revolve around SU sports, but we were picked to finish last in the conference, and finished second. Seems to me like that's a far more noteworthy accomplishment than being picked first with the top talent in the league, and achieving that goal.

Thoughts?

And when Dabo's only real threat to lose this entire year was at home vs. Dino, who went into that game as what, a 24 point road dog, and it took until the last minute for Clemson and their waves of 5* players to finally pull that win out -
who actually did the better coaching job??

I mean, if you looked to see what the general expectations were coming into this season, Clemson was (deservedly) the prohibitive favorite in the ACC, and most people would have picked them to finish 11-1 or 12-0.

And they finished 12-0 - way to do exactly what was expected!

I think most people thought Syracuse was "good" to win 5 games this year.
We won 9, and were right there in 2 of the 3 losses - all 3 on the road, 2 vs Playoff teams, and the other vs the Coastal Division Champs

Dabo & Clemson had an excellent season, and deserve a ton of kudos and accolades.
The ACC Coach of the Year shouldn't have been one of them.

I thought Dino should have won it. He did an excellent coaching job that most can't do. He took a team that everyone thought would finish last and put them within a few plays of being in the ACC championship game.

However, I'm not shocked that Dabo was selected. I feel like most voters don't actually watch the games and go off of name. I think it hurt Dino in the eyes of the voters that the ACC was down this year and Syracuse was blown out by ND. I don't agree but that's the speculation.
