Am I crazy to think this team can go 29-2?

I know the tournament is what matters. Just wanted to see how other fans felt.

Anymore than 5 Losses and no NC, You had better count NCSTATE as the toughest test after Marshall.
Their Bigs cancell out ours/It's a home Game/ and Gottfried has beat SU before. The 1st real away Game is a huge test... The Fans will be brutal. Just watch the Stanford/NC State Game.

Historically, very rare for SU to run the table without a few What losses. With our guards, I just can't see them being that steady to only lose 2 games. 5-6 losses looks more likely.

It's very rare for teams in geeneral to run the table without at least 1 What loss.

2 losses could happen, but I seem to recall a similar thread after we started 4-0 or someting in the BE last year. And we finished with 6 losses. I'm not predicting 12-6, but since the BE went to 18 games, one team in 4 years went through the conference schedule with 2 losses. And in the last 9 years, 3 teams have 2 losses, and 2 of those (2006 Nova and UConn) did it with the 16 game schedule.

So while I don't think you are crazy, it seems exceedingly unlikely. If t he over/under was 3.5 losses, I would probably take the over.

History say's 5-6 losses and I understand, but history hasn't seen this team hit its stride yet.

Not impressed with Pitt or Georgetown at this point. We should be able to take care of them. We play UConn and UL twice and all four games are very late in the schedule. UConn's freshmen will be much improved and UL will def be healthy by then. As for Marq...I think they have better guards than us but we have better bigs. Unfortunately, we dont know how to use our bigs in the offense so I dont think we have an advantage there. They are better shooters.

Dueling Uncle Ricos just made my head explode.

I'm not saying 5 or 6 losses, necessarily.

Just that even teams who win the conference lose more than 2 games more often than not. And also, to be honest, I'd like to see us play a lot more good competition before I start predicting something like a 16-2 record.

Though the conference does seem a little down this year, so it may be more likely that whoever ends up winning the league does it with 2 losses.

Real life Uncle Rico.

I like our transition more than I like Marquette's shooters.

What are your thoughts on the BET? I assume you hve us running the table there, since the teams we would see are "not that hard". So you've got us at 39-2.

There is a 6 game stretch starting Feb 11 where we play 4 games against Top 10 teams (Yukon x2 and Looevil x2). Two of those games will be on the road and two will be against a team we haven't beaten since Mr. T had a network TV show.

Take a xanax.

.
I even think getting through Nova, SJU, Cincy, Prov, WVU, and ND 6-0 would deserve a round of applause.

26-5 - based upon the way they played Florida - couldn't score a 3 and the BE teams will eat us alive when we perform like that again which I think 3 losses. Also 2 What losses to add in for 5 total.

You all know that there will be at least one possibly two What losses. Always is, always will be with SU basketball. Add that to 1-2 losses in tough road games and that is at least 4 losses.

edit: posted before I read Knicks411 say the same thing.

Just wait Mr.. As to how the Marg, PItt, and Gtown games go.
Just curious as to what you mean by "won't be that difficult"... A 2 point win, 10 point win, 20 point win? I can see all three of those games coming down to the last minute.

Don't assume, I'm talking about regular season.

Those games I think they have a good possibility of winning, by whatever score.

It's not just SU, most teams have the What losses. Don't know why everyone wants to raise expectations to the stratosphere, when you do that it usually precedes a disappointing season. I'll call one lose OOC to either Marshall or NC St. and 12-6 in the BE, so we'll have seven losses going into the BET. Then if I'm wrong and we only have four losses heading into the BET, I'll be happy as and you bozos predicting 2-3 losses will be crying about how JB can't coach and Scoop can't play.
