I am so glad that I was able to see this game in person!

I was talking with my future wife on a landline phone as we both watched the game on TV.

This game helped her become a Syracuse fan and helped convince me that she was the one!

Me too! Really miss that annual trip to NYC with buds for over two straight decades. The Blarney, Mcsorely's Ale House, hitting Wolfgang's Steakhouse on Park Ave., etc. It was a great tradition.

After each OT, I woke my wife up to update her on the game. Not sure she was happy after I woke her up for 6th time, but at least we won.

The only other time I did that was in the bottom of the 9th of Game 7 of the 2001 World Series so she could watch the infallible Mariano Rivera close out the Series. And we know how that ended.

I think I've told this story before but I had my own intramural basketball game starting towards the end of the second half, was recording the game on VHS (because so was a boss like that), and had to wait for the game to be over multiple OTs to watch it after I got back from my own game.
