That 3rd down play was killer because he needed the timeout just to think. He can’t make quick decisions.

Umm, our kicker was 1/4 from >40 this year.

Pretty brilliant move, even if Szmyt makes the kick, to leave the opponent :40, don't you think?

He is such a bad in-game coach. He can’t recruit either. So what exactly is it that he does?

If he wanted to kick the FG, why call the TO, and give Clemson :40? Why not let the clock run down, and THEN call TO?

He called the time out to go for it.

Then realized that kicking was the best option.

Tucker needed to get that first down. There was no good 'decision' to be made that 4th and 1.

Its a split second decision. If he doesn't call the time out he can't go for it. He realized too much could go wrong.

He also likely thought Tucker would pick up the first.
