DB has answered this many times. It is a shared responsibility among the coaching staff. Singling out the analyst and then ripping the Cavanaugh family is...misguided.

the punter and the FG unit. The KO and punt coverage teams have done very well. The return teams are both middle of the pack in the ACC and Pena individually is 3rd on kickoff returns. So I guess if it’s an analysts fault for the bad things he must get credit for the good things.

Williams punted much better last night. Not much credit has gone his way only reticule when he messes up. He had a couple of big punts last night, including putting Clemson inside the five in the second half.

I have used no personal insults I just pointed to results- 128th in net punting, the epic collapse of our Groza kicker, dumb special teams penalties. For whatever goofy reason Dino decided to divy up the coaching responsibilities (which we still don’t know who is responsible for what) we are having a historically bad special teams year for a team that has called themselves Punter U and Special Teams U. Williams was touted as the 4th best punter in last year’s recruiting class and Szmyt is a former Groza winner, what the hell is going on???

If the younger Cavanaugh isn’t involved in any of this then I apologize but they really need to figure out the root cause and the special teams by committee makes that very difficult to do.

Nah, I don't have anyone on ignore, not even the consistently terrible posters. And you are nowhere near that Ozcuse

Special Teams efficiency ratings are multifactored. At the one site I looked at, we were ranked 89th. FG and punting efficiency are big reasons why. And a lot of that has to do with missed kicks and epically poor punts that impact field position. Some of that is coaching, and a lot of that is poor player execution IMO.

agreed, however, that should have been decided long before kick. a play should have already called (pending shraders reading of the defense). dino knew he was gong to kick no matter what---he insulted the team who has been excellent given the circumstances---he is not the guy to lead you or me out of the abyss. he is wildhacks george mcclellan
