Coaches probably voted before they went to bed. I think it was like half time at midnight here. But agree, most coaches don’t seem to put much thought into it at allHow the hell does 3-2 Arizona, who has looked awful, have 11 votes?? More than 5-1 Texas Tech, who beat them in Tucson last night? Not to mention UNLV with 11 vs our 1, Stanford loss or not that is dumb
Oh. Ok then.So they have us at 44.
Agreed llandz - we just beat them and they get 11 to our 1????? Something just ain't right there. What??? UNLV 11 votes Syracuse 1 vote?
Well, they received less votes than before the game and we received more (even if it is just one). Vandy got more votes and Alabama dropped, but Vandy did not pass them in the overall rankings just because they beat them. There is a certain element of "apples and oranges" in this argument, but the rationale still holds, especially for those who don't have any particularly warm feelings or positive impressions of our Orangemen.Agreed llandz - we just beat them and they get 11 to our 1????? It is not a good comparison. Syracuse and UNLV both have one loss. Alabama has one loss and Vanderbilt has two losses.Well, they received less votes than before the game and we received more (even if it is just one). Seeing as most coaches have other things to do on Saturday’s I wouldn’t expect them to see many games.A lot of them probably have their wives or friends fill out their ballots. The coaches poll voters are either coaches who don’t see the games or SIDs who don’t care either way.
I trust the AP poll will be more kind to SU.
And one was a freak win, and one was a totally doable win.It is not a good comparison. Syracuse and UNLV both have one loss. Alabama has one loss and Vanderbilt has two losses.
It really is gross. The SEC is insulated beyond belief bc of reputation and pre-season polls.
Respectfully, I said there were some "apples and oranges" flaws to my example, thus implying that it wasn't a perfect comparison. However, despite the win, I don't think one could say we are categorically better than UNLV. We deserved to win, yet we were still fortunate. I would say the teams were fairly even overall. It is not a good comparison. Syracuse and UNLV both have one loss. Alabama has one loss and Vanderbilt has two losses.

Be honest - watch an NFL game - everyone played in the SEC - they deserve the respect they get
The SEC can watch an NFL game and respect my balls.Be honest - watch an NFL game - everyone played in the SEC - they deserve the respect they get
