I agree and wish they wouldn’t even come out with rankings until at least a couple weeks into the season.I have mixed feeling on whether we are a top 25 team. I think we’re at least close. We’ve played games close we shouldn’t have, all teams do through a season but we routinely do. We’ve lost 2 games, that one at least is a bad loss. Again, lots of teams have bad losses in a season. But combining all of the above I’m not sure that screams top 25.
However on the flip side we have one of the best QB’s, WR’s group and passing offense in CFB. What this offense has done it’s first year is incredible, especially given our history. You can have one of the best QB’s in CFB and not be in the top 25 BUT not when a team has 8 wins with one game left of regular season.
So ultimately I think we are a top 25 team. Had we been ranked at the start of the season in the top 25 we’d be in the top 25 this week. Just shows how important preseason rankings are.
It’s worth it! Now 41 games and 15 years since a top 25 winStupid Rutgers not being able to hold off #25 Illinois may end up keeping us out.
Glass half full with Rutgers losing so painfully I supposeStupid Rutgers not being able to hold off #25 Illinois may end up keeping us out.
I'm sure Rutgers almost upsetting them just dropped Ill for sure.Stupid Rutgers not being able to hold off #25 Illinois may end up keeping us out.
We will still have one of the greatest offensive team lineups for next year even with a new QB, so we have the opportunity and have some depth for next year. They best part is the attitude of the team is great this year. Uconn a lot showed great improvement... Wow we can tackle now... We can defensive rush etc.. And, we can do special teams... Albeit missed some field goals...I have mixed feeling on whether we are a top 25 team. I think we’re at least close. This week it is a tight spread. most likely #25 to #27. Hope it is #25, but highly likely #26.We will fall short. Probably #26

Agree, 26 or 27. Most of the upsets yesterday won’t help us, minus Washington StateWe will fall short. Probably #26
I think that's if we play Army... It would be a great bowl game and prove a bunch of doubts. We’re a top 25 team because we can beat an any of 10 teams that are ranked. It’s the eye test. Not to mention ranked teams like UNLV, Army and Tulane are not better than us. ISU, ASU, WSU, Illini…these are all teams at a minimum it’s a push. With our offense of course we are a top 25 team.

Agreed. Playing army in a bowl games does absolutely nothing for meMe personally, I’d like to play an SEC team.
I get it... be nice to be able to justify we should have been on the top 25, beating UNLV/GT ranked... The Stanford thing like others definitely hurt, but there are others on the SEC we definitely could win against, as well as the others on the list like Army where they are 'undefeated' and were supposed to play this year... I bet if we did and beat them it might have been a completely different schedule, but instead we played UNLV, won, and it was spectacular, but still didn't get ranked but they are a guaranteed thoughtful for playoffs and still ranked. It just shows how things are skewed etc.. so the SEC thing I agree on that matter even if to settle some ACC/SEC stuff even ACC internally thing about who gets ranked etc.Me personally, I’d like to play an SEC team.
