AP Tweet...Cantor...

I'm sure the Chancellor would not do that unless they were absolutely-POSITIVELY-100% SURE that JB knew nothing about Bernies indiscretions.

While I like that news, I still don't think she should be commenting on JB's job at all yet. That should be an entirely different conversation for an entirely different time.

Didn't she also give a vote of confidence to Pasqualoni? ;)

If Cantor's words, then huge, IMO. You don't voice support for JB if you're gonna fire him within a couple days/week/season... unless Nancellor is going down too

I think that means he's in the clear for his previous comments.

Now the key is avoiding the firestorm of circumstantial evidence which is bound to trickle forth and how it relates to the "he should have known" element.

Highly doubt they'll ever be a "smoking gun".

Can we get a link or a copy/paste of what it says?

If it's good or bad will depend on how it is worded but votes of confidences are usually followed with a firing when it comes to coaches.

Gives vote of confidence to Jim Boeheim.

Isn't that usually the kiss of death in these sorts of situations. Boss gives vote of confidence just before amazing new shocking revelation. G-d couldn't she have just quietly supported him?

@darrenrovelldarren rovell

Syracuse continues to play PR game right. Chancellor giving vote of confidence at the perfect time. Can still change course.

Yeah, but that's usually connected to the team's performance on the field.

Ah crap. That's never good. The dread "vote of confidence" is usually just a way to buy some time. I'm kind of expecting JB to be gone very soon now...

Darren Rovell, who has been critcizing Boeheim since Sunday has some nice things to say:

She gives the vote of confidence because until you do, you're never going to get the media to stop asking questions about Boeheim's future.

At the very least, it allows JB to coach without this being front and center in his mind.

Rovell has been against Boeheim all along. Par for the course with him.

Ugh, the dreaded vote of confidence.:bang:

I guess we will soon see how ready Hopkins is to be HC.
