Avoiding the trap scare..

I vaguely recall Igor claiming that we had more talent than Miami and that RJ Anderson was NFL material.
This was the Freeney versus McKinney game. Miami's all world left tackle had never allowed a sack and supposedly Freeney made a comment that he would end that streak. Both great players. Was also the year that Miami team lost early at Washington I believe.

That 2001 team is generally considered the best team ever.
 
Would “better defense” work for you?

UConn came in averaging about 27 a game.
We held them to 21, and 2 of those TD's were on busted plays.
Otherwise the D was pretty solid. 6 sacks vs. a very mobile QB, for example.

We came in averaging 49, and scored 51, while leaving a TON of points on the field (or having them taken away by the refs, who clearly bet on UConn covering. Suckers! :p)

We won.
We covered.
On to Clemson!
 
Our decade long curse against running QB’s died yesterday. Whew! I’m sure no one will say “we struggle against running QBs” ever again.
