As opposed to Dino who kicked him out and coach knuckles chewing him out
I wish the AD would have matched the offer from Oregon to keep Ross Douglas on the staff.
Pretty sure Douglas had a buyout that allowed Fran to expand staff. Not to mention hire Gattis who likely will become OC when Nixon moves on to NFL.I wish the AD would have matched the offer from Oregon to keep Ross Douglas on the staff.
Looking at the current football landscape, I'd jump from ACC Syracuse to B1G Oregon in a heartbeat.do you know if they did or didn't? Just because he's at Oregon doesn't mean dollars were the only factor
strange post. Guy who hired him needs to trust him and have faith that he will do a good job? Interesting.HCFB seems like communication, honesty and commitment are very important, as well as SU's history. Wildhack needs to have the kind of trusting relationship with Fran Brown that, as much as possible, ensures long-term coaching, Do whatever it takes. What happened with HCDB is totally irrelevant to today.
Lots of coaches turn down bigger bucks elsewhere. Bobby Hurley is a most recent example. Top 10 College Football Coaches Who Stayed at Their Schoolstrange post. Guy who hired him needs to trust him and have faith that he will do a good job? Interesting.
Wildhack took a huge risk hiring Fran. He's was far from a safe hire nor was he getting another P5 HC job elsewhere. JW has trusted Fran from day 1 and also been extremely supportive of how Fran likes to operate for the most part.
It will be almost impossible to retain him, if he wins 6-7 this year and has another great year next year. I could care less what FB said in his introductory press conference. His goal is to win a national championship sure but at a certain point like every other coach he will take the big $ and I won't blame him one bit
