Pretty sure Douglas had a buyout that allowed Fran to expand staff. Not to mention hire Gattis who likely will become OC when Nixon moves on to NFL.

HCFB seems like communication, honesty and commitment are very important, as well as SU's history. Wildhack needs to have the kind of trusting relationship with Fran Brown that, as much as possible, ensures long-term coaching, Do whatever it takes. Wildhack took a huge risk hiring Fran. He's was far from a safe hire nor was he getting another P5 HC job elsewhere. JW has trusted Fran from day 1 and also been extremely supportive of how Fran likes to operate for the most part.

It will be almost impossible to retain him, if he wins 6-7 this year and has another great year next year. I could care less what FB said in his introductory press conference. His goal is to win a national championship sure but at a certain point like every other coach he will take the big $ and I won't blame him one bit
