I did not see this story until now and thought it deserved more attention. This is, IMHO, the best move
Dino Babers has made. Look at Hart's numbers in HS. All time at Michigan! It will not matter that he didn't come here to play, he's here now and many recruits know him. Hart will be coaching the RB's. Only hired two days ago, he is already talking to a recruit from MI who has known of Hart for years and grew up wanting to be just like him. There are many connections between the two but it is premium content and I can't say anything more. As this progresses I, as will others, update the board. Also, we are in a very good position right now for other recruits due to Dino and his staff. His actions have made me appreciate Coach Babers even more than I did initially. He is working with his staff and recent hire trying to develop what will be a great football program. His recruiting moves give me more of an idea of where he is trying to take this program. There is much more going on but again I can't talk about it until it becomes published as public record. I hope the team as it exists and the new recruits coming in will be up to the conditioning he plans. Dino is not is going to delude any player that they are not here to make Syracuse into a national power again.

What does anyone think about this? About Hart, Babers, Opinions? Comments? Wish I could extend more info. Enthused?

Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Onondaga Central High School star running back Mike Hart appears to be coming home.

He has accepted the running backs coach position at Syracuse, according to Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated.

Hart, 29, set national records at Onondaga Central for career rushing touchdowns (204) and points for a non-quarterback (1,246),
per ESPN.com, leading the team to a 46-1 mark and three state championships. He had his number retired by Onondaga Central in October 2014.

Hart went on to play at the University of Michigan where he set school records for career rushing attempts (1,015) and yards (5,040). After three seasons in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, he broke into the coaching ranks as a quality control coach at Eastern Michigan in 2011.

He was promoted to running backs coach at EMU from 2012-13 before holding the same position at Western Michigan for the last two years.

Hart worked with Mid-American Conference offensive player of the year Jarvion Franklin in his first year with the Broncos. Franklin, a freshman, broke the program's single-season points and rushing touchdown records.

In 2015, Hart helped produce another freshman, Jamauri Bogan, who racked up 1,051 rushing yards and 16 scores.

Hart becomes the second reported addition to the Orange staff in as many days, joining
defensive line coach Vinson Reynolds, another WMU assistant.

SU
announced six coaching staff members on Monday:

Sean Lewis: co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Mike Lynch: co-offensive coordinator/offensive line coach
Brian Ward: defensive coordinator
Tom Kaufman: special teams coordinator/linebackers coach
Kim McCloud: assistant head coach/wide receivers coach
Nick Monroe: secondary coach

The NCAA allows each program to carry nine full-time assistants.

Dino Babers has hit the ground running.

It seems that he is really excited about Syracuse University.

I am very enthused.

Man lands on moon!

I had been thinking that this year's class would be a wash, that we would have to wait until the next cycle to see any true gains. However, this staff seems to have hit the ground running. Very excited to see how the next couple of weeks unfold. Here's hoping also that when the season comes around there is enough to work with to have a good season. I think if we do reasonably well and the offense can click it will be that much easier to get out and sell coming to play here!

If we land somewhere in the Top 60 I'll be satisfied, Top 50 I'll be pleased...finish strong!!
