Bad Sebastian...

Apparently the Hokie bird was more appropriate and professional in his gameday demeanor

I hate that bird!

I was at the nightmare 2001 game and that thing strutting to midfield to do their canes chant after every score is burned into my memory. I hope Otto let him know whose house he was in!

Why is she posting this? Obviously to garner attention but really...

It’s about social proof. The bird should take it as a compliment, she at least thinks subconsciously that getting hit on by a team mascot demonstrates her high market value and is therefore worth sharing. If she thought it would decrease her market value, she wouldn’t have said a peep about it and would deny if asked.

I give the guy credit; he took “peacocking” to such an extreme it needs a new word. I propose “Ibising”.

I’ve always heard that the rule is that mascots are not allowed to speak. I know that is true with Otto. Sebastian gonna Sebastian, I guess.
That is the GOLDEN rule. Take it from someone who knows.

Plus, if the dipsh!t in the costume had creatively mimed his way into asking for her number, she might have found it charming and acquiesced. But it's a Miami student so...

Maybe he should have asked the Miami fashion plate that hung out with the cheer squad?

Unrelated to this story, but Ashley Wenskoski is part of a podcast Why Am I A Mets Fan? which I listened to all year. Really good podcast which covered both the MLB team and the minors in depth. I had no idea she covered SU sports until this thread.

How does a bird mascot ask someone for their number? Is it a hand signal, like mimicking writing the number down? Is there some other type of bird signal? I can't see the Hurricane ruining the mascot code for a date...lot of missing details here to make this a more interesting story.
