I'm so sick of seeing players ejected and 4-5 point swings due to Flagrant 1's and 2's. it's a contact sport, not golf. Tempers flare and things get physical. Refs and the rules committee need to stop taking all emotion out of the sport.

In a game earlier a guy on a fast break put his arm out to shield off a defender on the fast break. Cut him under the eye. Refs looked at it and called a Flagrant 1. It's an offensive foul, not every hard play has to be a flagrant. Ohio State gets 2 shots and the ball, later go on to win in OT.

Just now a player on Cinci boxes out and elbows to the throat. Flagrant 2!? No, that's a Flagrant 1. Kid shouldn't be ejected for an over aggressive move.

So sick of the, I'll say it gently, "wimpification" of this sport.

These refs must have a heart attack watching pick up ball at the park. No blood, no foul.

I'm all for physical play, but that was a dirty, potentially dangerous elbow.

No one got hurt. Flagrant 1. Didn't need to be ejected.

For whatever reason hard fouls are flagrant 1's and flagrant 1's are flagrant 2's. CBB is becoming a "sissy" sport.

exactly. I'm open the viewpoint that technical fouls have become too prevalent in the game today, but THAT play is not the example to use to make that point. That kid deserved to get kicked out the game. If you turn toward your opponent, and away from the ball, to throw a forearm to the adam's apple in a clear attempt to hurt the guy, you get tossed no questions asked.

Cue the Harvard player flopping on a moving screen, and to the monitors, etc etc.

I'd rather see a change in the "Dwyane Wade play" where a jump shooter initiates contact with a defender straight up in the air and draws a foul. Also the "Shabazz Napier" play where, when dribbling, jerk your head and shoulders back every 2-3 steps to make it appear you're being speared by Ray Lewis.
