He could’ve handled things differently? He SHOULD’VE handled things differently. Left us high and dry.Not to get all morally superior but I really don't understand why anyone would root against this kid. I can understand not rooting for him or paying zero attention going forward, but why hope he fails? Sure, he left us in a tough spot & could've handled things differently but I don't get even the slightest sense that he has anything against SU or intended to hurt the program.
I would think people would root for the kid to succeed if, for nothing else, so our fanbase wouldn't look silly for being excited about & hyping a kid who ultimately didn't pan out. Plus, it'd make success next year even sweeter knowing that we achieved it even after losing an NBA talent late in the game. Idk, I genuinely hope the kid goes on to star in the NBA but to each their own.
So what great news should we expect tomorrow? It’s been less than a week since Cuse’s season ended and we’ve already lost two players in our expected forward rotation for next year. So much for all that depth we were hoping for. I’m assuming by late April, Buddy Boeheim will announce he’s decided he wants to get out of his hometown and play at Gonzaga instead.
I agree that he should have but, honestly, he doesn't owe us anything. All he's gotten from us is a paid visit & promise of a scholarship, both of which were available to him from numerous schools. I would've liked to see him inform the staff before going public but that's really just semantics. It's rumored that this has been an option "for months" but, for all we know, he could've just finalized his decision this week. I just can't fault a kid for doing what he thinks is in his best personal interest, however misguided that may (or may turn out to) be...not saying that you are, I haven't followed this thread close enough to know.He could’ve handled things differently? No team has his rights. He’s in an island. And a bus.
I hope the small payday was worth this epic mistake.
It is not an NCAA rule. It is an NBA rule. The NCAA has no power to change anything about it.NCAA needs to get rid of the one and done rule. Huge blow for Syracuse. Have to get a grad transfer now. Who got in his ear?
Lurked for 10 years. Felt the need to post.
Best of luck to this young man. Cuse fans should have no ill will. He made a decision that he thought was in his best interest. Yeah it sucks for us, but we're not him. We're not his family. Let's hope he made the best decision for himself. Congratulate the young man if you can, and let's move on. Future is promising.
Jalen Carey tweeted “ damn dawg” to Bazley
If he doesn't "owe" Syracuse anything, why should I or anyone else owe him a congrats and pat on the back? noise
Is the future promising? It was. Is it now?Lurked for 10 years. Felt the need to post.

Sure. I'm moving on. I wish him no ill will but feel no reason to congratulate him. He was never a part of the SU family and I have no personal connection to him. I feel toward him the same as I feel about any of his nameless classmates entering the workforce or heading off to college next year.Because you’re an adult? And theoretically adult men and women can move on from having their heart broken by a 17 year old boy.

Agree 100%. Much easier to excel in college for 1 year and get drafted round 1 than it will be coming from the G league. There are no colgates, cornells etc...in the G league. Playing against men who were all high level college players every night can make a skinny 18 year old look bad. If nothing else it will be an interesting case study, and most likely a warning to others thinking about thisThe 2 #1 seeds in the G-League playoffs consist of:
Jaron Blossomgame
Amida Brimah
Nick Johnson (Arizona)
Darrun Hillard
Oliver Hanlan
Matt Costello
Nigel Hayes
Isaiah Hicks
Zak Irvin
Xavier Rathan-Mayes
Devin Robinson
Again, those guys make up about half of the 2 best teams in the G-League. That's a list full of guys who were all arguably elite college players. Blossomgame and Hicks were guys who we couldn't even handle in college. Darrun Hillard has to be almost 30 at this point; same with Nick Johnson. Hayes was a monster and I believe a 1st or 2nd team All-American.
Not only are these elite college players, but also grown men. 23-24 year old kids (at the youngest); and Bazley (which I mentioned yesterday in the McD-AA thread) played in a not-so-great league in Cincinnati where he pretty much faced no one of equal ability, thinks he can come in as a 17 year old with a super thin frame and improve his draft stock vs. these players? At this point I'm empathetic to this whole thing, but the kid could end up destroying his draft stock. He's relying on a team that will have 0 ties to him in 2019 improving him. Not only that, he will have to do it vs. guys who are bigger, stronger, and most likely at this point better than him.
Jordan Brand Classic could be kinda awkward. Also, after all these all star games we really won’t hesr about Darius for a longgggg time. He will get some pub from the announcers about his decision but after that? Crickets ...willl be forgotten
He probably won't be allowed to play since he declared a pro career path.

I'm going to have to disagree. The bus is the worst, rode one from Cuse to Olean one time, and that dam trip was the worst thing ever, and I swore I'd never ride again and haven't. Back to the melt down.I’m not sure why so many posters are obsessed with having to ride the bus. I rode a bus for ten years. It really wasn’t that nightmarish an experience.
