I think he went to B.C. but I'm not sure. Still, he might have his eyes on something bigger after next year. he should have a good year.Bona coach is from North Attleborough MA so i assume it's local guy angle.

Scoonie Penn Mike Bradley were the guys he couldn’t get into BC.
You are right. I meant Depina originally. My bad?
Penn played two seasons at BC.
Becker has some really nice recruiting pipelines with the NE prep schools. For that reason alone I think he should get a look at BC.Personally, I think BC is too big a step up for John Becker, but I'm interested to hear why the Bonnies coach would be favored over Becker. UVM has won that matchup the last few years anyway. Becker has had more consistent results getting the league championship and the guaranteed bid to the NCAA (or so it feels). He's done a good job of recruiting and using transfers pretty well despite being in a lower level league.
I think they'll also benefit from not having a laundry machine of early opt outs. If they can find the right mix as you mention they can become consistently good (prob never great).Becker has some really nice recruiting pipelines with the NE prep schools. I think you’re right though that it’s probably too big a step up for him given the level of competition he’s currently at, but I think BC needs to at least consider him, given his regional ties and success.
I find the BC job interesting because it’s a unique position of not a super successful program in the ACC, doesn’t consider itself a football school, but has a good recruiting area. If a coach can consistently have a roster of 3-4 New England prep guys, 1-2 players from NYC, 1-2 international players, a mix of Catholic school players from the Midwest or Canada and maybe a couple of good JuCos, that’s a roster that could be middle of the pack pushing for a NCAAT bid.
No one ever sees Earl coming. That wasn't a name I expected.
As a syracuse fan, agree lolI really like this hire
Still cannot believe you can't get it through your fat skull that Mark Schmidt doesn't want the job.
Except you know. Everything bad that has happened to him. You think a Catholic school is going to hire a coach who paid strippers for recruits?Richard Pitino would have been a great fit at BC. He is an East coast guy, his name means something, he is 38 and has 8 years of B1G head coaching experience and his wife is from Boston area.
Pitino would have loved to go to BC - he is now a possibility at New Mexico.
