BC Game Thread...

All BS aside, Culpepper slinging it. Guess that’s why he had all them offers coming out, wierd motion, good arm.

He is slinging it around, his delivery actually reminds me of Phillip Rivers.

This was a 4-5 year rebuild. He can win 4 next year and be safe. Then the seat gets warm.

Shafer destroyed what Doug was building.
4 next year and he is in big trouble. But yes your right about Shafer.

Slightly disagree. I don't think Marrone was building anything. His recruiting wasn't good. Did he recruit anyone that even got drafted. Let alone drafted high. Doug is a very good coach as far as coaching guys up. But he didn't build anything.

Marrones first year of recruiting he had 2-3 months to recruit and most of that was during a dead period. So yeah, his recruiting wasn’t great. When he left the program we were starting to get more consistent as a team. Any game with scores that looked lopsided were not blow outs usually till the end of the game. He did more with less talent and depth than Shafer or DB.

I don’t think his trajectory is as high as DB long term but he definitely was building a foundation. Not sure that’s really arguable.

I have more issues w the injury stuff year after year. Our schedule composition is terrible yearly but we asked to be in the ACC. Need to recruit tougher kids. P loved to recruit Boston/CT. Need to find someone on staff to do it. We need uglies

Seriously, other than ED and Martin, where are the big injuries? Evety team has multiple starters go down. This team under Dino is in great shape, football shape.

I don’t know that a Hail Mary is much better but even Murphy knows he’s not making that kick. So what’s the point?

He wasn't playing the ACC schedule. Big difference. Everyone forgets we finished strong behind Nassib. Without that, Marrone would have been on a very hot seat. Nonetheless, he did fine. but he was building a program. he was coaching someone else's guys up. No qb on the horizon. hunt would be 4th string on this team.

The ED injury was huge but the biggest issue is our upperclass talent stinks.

We haven't had that many injuries. I do think we have been beaten down by our schedule. Having said that, the loss to MTSU was the killer and should never have happened.

Dungey and Strickland ?

Half the defense is backups and we don’t have the depth.

Just one tuba graduating. Could 2018 be The Year of the Tuba?

Amen, we all said it at the time.

It was sarcasm. The kid crushed a 53 yarder in the rain and mud at Miami (went 4 for 4).
Ah. Still, no one should think that a 50 yd FG is ever a gimme, even in a dome.

Marrone brought in Thomas and Sharpe in his first recruiting class.
Marrone didn’t recruit a QB who could play well. Hunt was the best and he was a game manager.

Who knows what Zack Allen could have been here.

The 2012 season should have been a 9-3 or 10-2 season.
We threw away a great season and went 8-5 and that was before the ACC move.

Marrone smartly knew the roster wasn’t going to replicate 2012 and he got his NFL job. He did a fine job post Greg Robinson but him leaving so late caused the panic Shafer hire.

You mean like Zaire, parris, Erv, and Ish? Yup...
That isn't near good enough. Need probably 1 and 1/2 times that many in each class. And a little better , at that.

Ok, I never called it a gimme.

It was a joke - Murphy has kicked well in crappy conditions and missed less difficult kicks in the Dome. Hence the sarcasm.

He’s near the top of the all time list at a school that’s had quite a few prolific place kickers.
