BC postgame thoughts

I disagree with this big time. Melo knows nothing about current college coaches who would be in the running. If we go with his input, we’ll end up with an NBA guy like Mike Woodsen. Wildhack needs to hire the best coach available this offseason. If we lose Kiyan, ce la vei.

Wait, I said I would not get Melo's input on any coaching decision?

I feel like if I put myself in their shoes they do that when they are overthinking and unsure of the game plan.
I think when your base offense is 4 out iso, the guys have a lot of pressure to make individual plays. If the off-ball guys stand around (which seems to be what happens most of the time) it's very easy for the defense to defend with help.

donnie also had 7 turnovers vs BC!

hes been doing it all ACC as well...just all that scoring masked it somewhat (even though i noticed it too)

overall

reds offense is EXTREMELY easy to defend - opponents know exactly what these guys are trying to do every time down the floor

last 10 minutes of games SU goes ISO mode and just takes turns going 1 on 1 - a holdover of JB strategy

but if the driver is bottled up they have no outlet and opponents know what is going and cover the passing lanes...it leads to a lot of bad shots and a lot of turnovers - youre seeing it more in ACC play bc these guys already have red very well scouted
In the Big East JB consistently won close games and overtime games.

I can buy that reducing his assist totals, but his turnovers are often comically bad.
I think he’s being asked to do something he’s not used to, creating or being a playmaker. I think in general he can be a good passer if he knows where the ball is supposed to go. Too often he has to decide how to drive the offense.

I’m worry if they decided they wanted a PG to run the offense and just went with the guy with best assist numbers last season without regard for play style.

Nice photo from the game

and?

doesnt make everything he did perfect. theres a reason he was fired.

im talking about 1 aspect of what he did that red has copied - iso heavy offense late in games. i dont like it
