It may be true. But let’s be honest with ourselves. If JJ doesn’t play against Fla State, does that one get counted as a win here as well? And if we lose vs BC last night, do we get to say, well Freeman was out so that would have been a win too.

I agree the team is better with JJ. I just don’t know how much better and I wouldn’t count any game as a “we would have won” type game with this team.

In fairness I said "could have beaten." Meaning our chances would have improved.

Both ND and Georgetown were one possession games with a minute left. JJ is our closer and is basically the only player on the entire roster who can effectively break down a defense off the dribble and score on his own at critical junctures. It was a massive liability to not have that skill without him.

I agree that FSU would have been a loss either way. That game got away from us much earlier than the above two.

BC lost at home to a .500 Dartmouth team and is ranked 195 in KenPom right next to Pepperdine & Marshall.

The game wouldn’t be the same game with JJ. Maybe we play worse? Maybe JJ plays like he did in Brooklyn and we win by 20? Also what if ND has Burton?

Just seems pointless to me. We are what our record is. Just keep winning games and all this what if talk will go away.

Oh, and I guarantee you FSU would be a win to some here if JJ didn’t play.

Can't say I watched the game in its entirety. But it seems like there are SOME pieces there. It's a matter of the guys and Red putting it all together.

My expectations are pretty low for the rest of the year, but hopefully this year can build some sort of confidence going into next season

Who knows what will happen the rest of this season?
Several players have started to play better and more consistent...Taylor, Cuffe, Davis solid without Freeman, Lampkin seems more engaged, JJ is back and on a mission.
Imagine if Bell could get going & Choppa figures it out.
Imagine if Carlos is utilized like he should be and becomes more productive in limited time.
Imagine Freeman coming back and the time injured was just what he needed. Sit back with no pressure, watch, reflect and learn.
Imagine if things click within the coaching staff and the players & everything comes together.
We have Seniors, we have leaders but the leaders need to be better defined and take over. Its happening.
I dont care who you are, progress is being made...slowly but surely.
These thoughts don't change if we lose to Lville, however they might if we lose by 20+.
But if we win? Lets go! Id be happy with a deep run in the ACC tourney feeling at least a glimmer of hope...~~~~♤for this season anyways

I've been very critical of Red but he definitely has made some tough choices and it has worked.

With that being said, his move to zone was catastrophic and he should not do it again. Pretty sure every fan saw the zone and knew the first three attempt was cash.

Cuffe can drive the lane, draw the foul and actually make foul shots.
He can make the 3, as we saw yesterday, but that should only be enough to keep defenders honest. Focus on driving, maybe with consistent playing time his 3 pointer could become more reliable.
Lord knows the kid never knows from game to game how much he will play, or play at all.
He is the only one who seems to have Gerry’s attitude as a player - never give up, never surrender

It comes down to the TOs. If we only have 5 in a given game, not too many teams will blow us out.

Starling was easily our best player throughout the course of the game, but when Cuffe hit the back to back treys, that really gave us the big MO.

We still need to improve the trey shooting. Total mystery what has happened to Choppa and Bell, but if we could get one of them to be a dependable 35 to 40% trey shooter I think our whole dynamic would change (assuming the TOs dont revert). Also lets not forget as well as JJ played, he did not make a trey. If he has any next level aspirations that needs to change that in a big way.

Red seems to be turning the corner with his rotations and he is not sending out guys who arent playing well any more. So much better w Carlos having limited minutes.

I've been consistently saying that Cuffe will be a huge piece to turning this season around. I havn' t been alone but those that disagree have been adamant saying Cuffe is no good.
My question has been...no good based on what? last year or this year after playing 6 minutes in first 9 games? playing with one eye looking over his shoulder bc 1st little mistake he is getting pulled...meanwhile Carlos plays through mistakeX#.
Im not tooting my own horn, I am only interested in seeing how it all plays out and IF I and we are right &...Why did it take Coach 2 months to see it?

what we hoped Chance would be going into the season is what Cuffe is now.
