In fairness I said "could have beaten." Meaning our chances would have improved.It may be true. But let’s be honest with ourselves. If JJ doesn’t play against Fla State, does that one get counted as a win here as well? And if we lose vs BC last night, do we get to say, well Freeman was out so that would have been a win too.
I agree the team is better with JJ. I just don’t know how much better and I wouldn’t count any game as a “we would have won” type game with this team.
Both ND and Georgetown were one possession games with a minute left. JJ is our closer and is basically the only player on the entire roster who can effectively break down a defense off the dribble and score on his own at critical junctures. It was a massive liability to not have that skill without him.
I agree that FSU would have been a loss either way. That game got away from us much earlier than the above two.
