A.) Get USC to play at Alumni Stadium?
B.) Get hooked up with ESPN coverage on a Sat night in the 8 pm primetime spot?
Great exposure and it just pisses me off that we have to play at MetLife.

They've also had College Gameday come to their campus twice compared to Syracuse's zero. Maybe it has to do with Boston College being located right inside a huge media market, maybe it's because Boston College has been a solid, top-25 caliber team way more recently than Syracuse, maybe it's a little of both. How in the world did BC:

^ ^ ^ This ^ ^ ^As someone who has lived in Boston, here's my take on BC. When BC is bad or average, they only get attention from their alumni (and not a ton) and students (the students, for not that big a school, seem to always pull huge crowds as far as football is concerned). When BC is good, the whole city pays attention, and they get front page coverage on the Boston Globe.
True. That's what happens when you have all the teams that Boston has.^ ^ ^ This ^ ^ ^
Frontrunners Oh Lord
This is incorrect. I went to BC after graduating from SU in 2006 and was there in 2007 during the 7-0 #2 in the country start and the city of Boston didn't care. Matt Ryan was legit that season and Patriots were in the middle of an undefeated regular season, the Red Sox won the World Series and BC didn't even register in the market. I remember the Thursday night win they had at VPI in the slop and rain 14-10 and nobody in Boston gave a crap because it was on the during World Series. Then BC crapped the bed against a mediocre at that time FSU team at home and the season went nowhere after losing to VPI in the ACC title game.As someone who has lived in Boston, here's my take on BC. Boston doesn't care about BC because its a pro sports town. If BC basketball was decent I am sure they would get a little attention because Boston loves hoops and the brands BC plays are the best.
I am from New England. The city of Boston doesn't care about BC football or college football. The city is a pro sports town. Put on WEEI or The Sports Hub you get no discussion on college sports or BC. BC played UMass last week nobody cared.Name a college team in the country up against a similar one two punch in performance that would register any more. That's a pretty unique set of circumstance. But of course lets make conclusive universal statements from that unique set of circumstances.
If the Sox were out of the running and the Pats were having a normal season the #2 college FB team would get plenty of pub. The fact that they didn't get much attention in that scenario isn't definitive.

I get you don't like me and I feel the same way but on this one you shouldn't fight the point. There are so many colleges in Boston that people don't have the infinity for BC football because of Bentley, Tufts, Boston U, Northeastern, Harvard unlike CNY the locals don't have the loyalty to BC. Nobody in Boston outside of BC alums care about BC football. The town talks Pats/Sox/Bruins/ Celtics if they are good. BC gets no attention.
I wouldn't fight the point I make declaratory statements but that is how I talk. It doesn't mean I am right 100% of the time but my points tend to be close to the fact. I am sure if BC were undefeated they would get some traction in the papers but the radio shows wouldn't talk much about BC. Hell the last place Red Sox get too much discussion now. Here's the problem, you make these giant declaratory leaps all the time. Nobody cares, you mean like ever, can't happen no matter what. My guess is that in a normal circumstance if BC were #2 it would get some local attention.
I remember the '92 game when SU and BC were both really good the Alumni was sold out and there was a TON of LOCAL attention on that game. I seem to remember a little guy name of Flutie who had the eyes of the NATION let alone NE on him.
Williams ended up getting a ton of attention last year.
Non-declaratory statements are for whimps, politicians and economists.I wouldn't fight the point I make declaratory statements but that is how I talk. Harvard has won NCAA tournament games the last 2 years and they haven't moved the needle one bit in Boston. Boston just isn't a college sports market. I am sure in 1992 Boston was different but that was before Bob Kraft bought the Patriots and Bill Parcells came from the NY Giants and turned the Patriots around and Belichick/Brady turned New England into monster they are.

If people want to disagree I am perfectly fine with that. I get upset when people argue the person rather than the point. That infuriates me and causes my anger. If people want to tell they disagree that is a debate and fine. I do not argue a point because someone I disagree with makes it. Whenever I say anything it's because I believe it I know I am not always right but my statements are always legit. Then why take such offense when people push back if you know that?
Just because you "say it" and "believe it" doesn't mean that it's a fact, nor that it's "legit".Whenever I say anything it's because I believe it I know I am not always right but my statements are always legit.

When you spout opinion as fact, and don't recognize the difference, is when rub some people the wrong way. The statements can even appear to be Tristanesque. Some just see it as "Alsacs being Alsacs". Others have taken to calling you on it.
I don't really really care... I'm just trying to make you aware of how others see some of your posts.
Go Orange!
I like you as a poster. In response to your message I don't care what other people who do not know me think about me. If people want to put me on Tristan level I honestly don't care. I always tell people if they don't like my posts put me on block. This is a freaking Syracuse message board my positions/opinions are very rarely completely off the rail and what I say is not going to change to conform to people I honestly don't care about.Just because you "say it" and "believe it" doesn't mean that it's a fact, nor that it's "legit".
