BC vs USC 9/13

I live 20 miles from Boston. BC could go 11-0 and no one but alums would care. This is a pro sports town.

The last time BC was good, The Patriots weren't what they are now. The Pats satisfy all the football demand now, they didn't then.

Tristan would never say he knows he's not always right. He would say he's right and it's a fact and Hannibal Lecter the other person into feeling worthlessly dumb about disagreeing with him.

I miss him.

(seriously, I do).
i psuedo know tristan. he was a psuedo friend of mine. ive spent countless threads usually on his side on things, toying with people...and let me say, alsacs...you are no tristan.

fwiw: al, you really got to not take things so personal, your message is getting lost.

I only took one thing personally and that was the Notre Dame thread a month ago. Stevenson I apologize to you for that getting out of hand I could have handled that differently.
The rest of the people in that thread a month ago including a moderator and others I am not sorry nor apologize too. I don't look to take anything personally. However, when people want to say my posts are given as fact that is how they choose to see it and I can't tell them not to. I think my opinions are decent and I don't run around and make stupid comments that often(I make some as mostly everybody does). People don't like how strong my comments come off. I can't help how people want to perceive me. If people don't like me or my posts I honestly don't care just ignore me its no skin off my back. My posts unless given with a link are my opinions. Apparently we have "in" club on this board and I am not "in" that is fine as I have my friends on this board I don't need the validation the people who I won't name but I could list them off if I wanted too.

Not to you Kaiser to those people PUT ME ON BLOCK AND DON'T READ MY POSTS I AM SICK OF HAVING THIS DEBATE. I only care about the substance of what I say not the style in which I say it. What I say is my opinion and it is usually fair. Anybody can disagree with me and I am okay with that. I say your wrong it doesn't mean your wrong unless I supply evidence. If people want to tell me I am wrong I am okay with that. Life is about busting balls and having discussions/debates not getting pissed at each other.

I am from New England. The city of Boston doesn't care about BC football or college football. The city is a pro sports town. Put on WEEI or The Sports Hub you get no discussion on college sports or BC. BC played UMass last week nobody cared. I get you don't like me and I feel the same way but on this one you shouldn't fight the point. There are so many colleges in Boston that people don't have the infinity for BC football because of Bentley, Tufts, Boston U, Northeastern, Harvard unlike CNY the locals don't have the loyalty to BC. Nobody in Boston outside of BC alums care about BC football. The town talks Pats/Sox/Bruins/ Celtics if they are good. BC gets no attention.

I remember the 2005 BC hoops team started out 20-0 and the WEEI nighttime host (and BC broadcaster) Ted Serandis was regularly berating listeners for not giving a crap.

This is incorrect. I went to BC after graduating from SU in 2006 and was there in 2007 during the 7-0 #2 in the country start and the city of Boston didn't care. Matt Ryan was legit that season and Patriots were in the middle of an undefeated regular season, the Red Sox won the World Series and BC didn't even register in the market. I remember the Thursday night win they had at VPI in the slop and rain 14-10 and nobody in Boston gave a crap because it was on the during World Series. Then BC crapped the bed against a mediocre at that time FSU team at home and the season went nowhere after losing to VPI in the ACC title game.

Boston doesn't care about BC because its a pro sports town. If BC basketball was decent I am sure they would get a little attention because Boston loves hoops and the brands BC plays are the best.
Would strongly disagree with you, you are incorrect. BC got plenty of attention in 07. But that was a great time to be a Boston sports fan... 16-0 Patriots, Red Sox World Series, Celtics on their way to a title. Good times.

Don't know why you assume such a thing about football but assume there would be a huge interest in basketball.

You don't have to state the obvious. Boston is a pro sports town. When the team is good, however, it gets some attention.

We can agree to disagree no biggie. I have a soft spot for the Eagles because of getting my law degree there, and I was there for the Matt Ryan years and with exception of Meiterperl on WEEI nobody talked BC football. I just don't think college football will ever rate in Boston because of the people going to all different colleges and college FB IMO is more prideful and love for your school.
I remember going to a watch party for a night BC-Clemson game in Death Valley in either 2007 or 2008 I forget which and the Eagles winning on a last second FG miss by Clemson kicker Buchholz(I remember the name because of Clay) it was a huge win and there was no coverage in the local media except a small blurb in the papers.
We can disagree but I feel hoops are different because whenever Duke goes up to Conte it gets a little local juice when FSU FB went up last year it didn't get that same juice because of the Pats season going on BB season is later after FB is done.

My dad went down to Death Valley for that BC win (was 07... Clemson felt like they were gonna win the Atlantic that year, too bad)
