This is only for the public schools, private school data, as well as Pitt's, is not available.

So much for the Rutgers "brand" power.

What's funny is that people on the Rutgers board somehow think this information reflects well on state of their program.

Revenue is only a part of the picture. Any similar data on expenditures and/or the net?

Those Rutgers numbers are scandalous!

Of the $60M they get from all sources, $28.5M or just under 50% is taken
directly from the students or taken from the Universities general fund (money that could go
to academics programs, maintenance of facilities, etc.). All chasing a dream that is now slipping away.

How the State Government and the Board of Trustees can allow that to continue is a mystery. And
by looking at similar schools you can see just how out of whack Rutgers is versus the others.

Its border line criminal.

It's only part of the picture, but it the side that shows the resources that competitors have available, what the mix of sources are at each school, and at a high level what the relative market power is based on such things as ticket sales and licensing revenue.

Townie's 100% right -- those numbers should be absolutely scandalous. The subsidy level is staggering (approaching 50%!!). That has to be the highest level in the country.

Kids and their parents are taking out student loans to pay tuition bills that are artificially high (by almost $30M) and the great majority of them don't care a whit about football.

$2M a year for a coach that has never won a Big East Championship in 10 years of trying?

How can the people of the State stand for this outrageous abuse? It's sad.
