Yes.

They also approved red, staying within.
They approved red’s contract terms and absurd buyout.
 
No doubt she's going to be working some of the players on the side

His staff is filled with relatives, loyalists, and retreads, just like when the wheels came off with the Patriots. His portal work and HS recruiting is not noteworthy. The AD was not involved in hiring him - it came straight from the Board of Trustees. And there's the whole "keep my girlfriend copied on all emails" thing - he barely cares.

Maybe he'll coach his way out of it, but there's a lot of red flags already.

I worked at a company where the CEO refused to read emails and told his administrative assistant to print out the important ones for him. I’m pretty sure nothing rose to that level of importance.

If his coaching stint goes anything like my time at that company, it’ll be incredibly entertaining - in a “how did they manage to get that dumpster full of flaming tires to roll that far?” kind of way.

Recruiting, he doesn't need to recruit at least for a QB. He gets Nico Iamaleava in one day from Tennessee from underground NIL money moles to NC. Amazing.

UNC was interested but is reported to be out of the running.
 
There are worse ideas than dumping many millions of dollars into a program and hiring one of the most successful coaches alive.

I’m guessing the university wants to raise the profile of the program for a couple years until Bill’s girlfriend can legally buy White Claws and then leave the program to a different HC who will allow the team to cash in on Bill’s work.

He did this so his kid has the job next. It’s in the contract. (Per reports). Unknown is if there is a vesting period for which Bill must coach.

The girlfiend thing is interesting but I think there is too much time spent talking about everything except football. BB is the greatest coach of all time. Just from watching his teams play. Seeing how prepared and disciplined they are. He might be 72 but he still knows what it takes to win ball games. I can see him winning 9 or 10 games out the gate.

Looking at their schedule, if they don’t beat the win total over/under if 7.5 this season is an abject failure. But I expect this to go about as well as Joe Gibbs not-at-all-triumphant return to coaching two decades ago -I’d be more likely to bet the under.
