Below Rock Bottom

Stop being negative. Tough game. Joe did everything under the sun to help us lose. Just can not play like that as a senior. Half court shoot at half beat us in the end. best part of the game is JB can not deny Taylor is a player we need on the florr.

There is very little left to be optimistic about right now with JB at the helm. I love JB and what he did until 2016. It's been time and now we are watching it fall apart and stain his legacy. It's heartbreaking and maddening all the same.

Again, as I asked in a different thread the other day, if I were to ask the chancellor, the AD, JB and the assistants, would I get the exact same answer as to what the ironclad plan is?
They’d all awkwardly look at JB and wait for him to speak for them.

I just think it’s funny that so many people advocate for keeping JB as long as possible because they are concerned the program will decline with a new coach, but they’ll stay by JB until he runs the program into more icebergs than the Titanic.

Logic is strong with those fans.

Taylor is better in the zone at guard from what I saw.

Jesse-Brown-Benny-Taylor-Mintz is my preferred lineup going forward.

Hima, Joe, and Bell off the bench. Joe and Bell get more mins if they are hitting shots.

symir, 5 mins tops to spell Mintz at pg
Okay

There are not many people saying that Orlando. Most everyone wants him to retire. One way of the other.

I think the fact that our hot rival is Bryant sums up this program really well right now

Yeah you’re hard pressed to find anyone saying he’s doing a good job, you have the retire now camp and the retire when he’s ready because earned it on 40+ years. That’s about it

The excuses and calling us all haters shtick will be here soon I'm sure... tonight made the decision that not even patronizing the Dome this year. Feel bad because it's not the kids fault but the university needs to get this program cleaned up first.
JB has be “patronizing” us and the media for years.

Its called a loser attitude

Fire JB

Enough is enough
Can’t fire him.
We just have to pray that The Plan is for him to retire at the end of the season. And if that wasn’t the plan, it needs to be adjusted. He gets to go out with the PR being ‘his decision,’ but if he doesn’t concede to that, then he gets fired. That’s the deal—carrot or stick. One way or the other, he needs to be replaced and you hope he takes the graceful way out and doesn’t force your hand.

Unfortunately those fans holding on for the past three years+ have contributed to the decline of the program. We should be on year 1, 2 or 3+ of a new coach by now.

At this point JW needs to push for a retirement announcement as soon as possible. Fans will at least show up to bid farewell to JB the rest of the year.

I wasn't thinking of over Joe. I was thinking of over Bell. Who going in to today, had 4 rebounds in 5 games. Anyone on our board would have that.
That’s a great line. I’m pretty sure even going back to all the other boards no one has pulled that out. Well done.

44cuse

It’s honestly the lack of self awareness for me. From seemingly both JB & JW. There’s a history of coaches hanging on too long, we all see the negative & at times heartbreaking results. Is there ANY self awareness to see it’s happening (been happening) right now with Syracuse basketball? If not, what are they telling themselves the future holds?! A complete turnaround or an influx of talent?

I know nothing in the sports world is as cut & dry as this, but I would love to see just an honest self assessment & acknowledgement of where Syracuse is as a program.

All of JB’s peers are retired, even at the height of success, Roy Williams, Coach K… even Jay Wright. Is JB just unable to see it?

I highly doubt JB will ever be "fired." I just can't see it going down that way. Unless he does or says something egregious off the court.

He will likely need to be pushed into retirement behind the scenes.
