Kidding about what?I hope you’re kidding. I’m not sure because we did win.
I’m confused as to what in just means.Kidding about what?
Not sure what you're confused about, we don't have any quality wins, ergo today was the best win.
Also, given that the post was made in just, fine-tune your sarcasm meter.

I have a pretty good sarcasm meter…you said that’s our best win and best performance. Bucknell was 4-8, now 4-9. We played like crap (21 turnovers) and the game was pretty close throughout. 6 point game with 11 minutes to go. All that is why my sarcasm meter wasn’t sure if you were serious.
Our best win is either Youngstown State - 8-5; 1st in the Horizon league or Cornell - 7-4.
Our best performances were either Texas or Texas Tech.
No you don't.
Clearly.
If nothing else, thank you for validating my skepticism about your sarcasm meter.LoL. Okey doke.

to be pedantic, the term is “in jest” not just.
I never thought I'd see a Bucknell win listed as best of anything for any SU team let alone Basketball. Wow we have hit bottomIf this is our best win/performance of the year, which, thinking about it, you're probably right, things are actually much worse than we thought.
So which is it? "Hard to believe", or you agree that it was due to (insert random convenient qualification here)? It’s hard to believe someone thinks that was our best win and our best performance. But I will agree it was without Starling.

I didn't say which win was against the toughest opponent, or which one was best for us from an SOS standpoint, which one was our best game post-JJ injury, or even which game was our best performance in a loss -- all ways you've parsed in this thread. It was a generally comfortable win, which have been few and far between this year no matter the quality of opponent we face.
The fact that we're even "arguing" our "best performance" coming from a group that includes Youngstown State, Cornell, and Bucknell says it all, and shows the absurdity of our situation.
And while I was pleased with the Youngstown State (eventual) victory, during the game it was sobering during the game to think that we might lose at home to a team Ohio State had defeated by nearly 40 points a few days earlier.
Conversely, yesterday's game we stretched out a double-digit lead in the second half, and generally maintained that despite a few runs by the opponent. Coasted to a relatively easy win, which we haven't done in most games this season. No more, no less.
And given that we’re struggling against mid major teams in the OOC portion of the schedule, it's going to be a long year. I've been extraordinarily critical of the coaching, roster composition, and quality of product you see on the court. I don't see things getting any better / easier moving forward,, but I'm sure that if we revisit the overall concept of this thread (even though this one was intended to poke fun of our poor start / poor coaching) at the end of the year, we might STILL be talking about our best performance potentially coming against the likes of Bucknell. Scary.
Despite the loss, Texas was probably our best game.To clarify. it was a bad performance against a terrible team. I disagree it was the best win/performance of the year.
However, I can recognize it was probably our best performance without Starling, since we only have 2 wins without Starling. Albany and Bucknell.
It was not our best performance of the season. There were times watching it was comically bad. Even Red was exasperated by some of the poor play (such as the kickout to Bell, at the SU bench, that went out of bounds off his hands because he couldn’t catch a simple pass.). Poor shooting again, sloppy again. It was just against a really bad team so we won.
Well this is depressing.Best performance is subjective, but statistically, this was not Syracuse's best win of the season. The win over Cornell was.
Syracuse has played 12 games, beating the 6 teams that are ranked below them, and losing to the 6 teams that are ranked above them.
(Rankings are KenPom/T-Rank as of today)
Tennessee (3/4): loss
Texas Tech (13/11): loss
Maryland (18/13): loss
Texas (36/31): loss
Georgetown (67/81): loss
Notre Dame (84/82): loss
Syracuse (110/128)
Cornell (129/131): win
Youngstown State (202/213): win
Albany (228/244): win
Bucknell (260/300): win
Colgate (266/295): win
Le Moyne (333/321): win
If we include the most recent NET rankings, Cornell is technically an upset. The Big Red are #122, while the Orange are #144.
Well this is depressing.
