I know the AHL game is this weekend and the hoops team is on Tuesday but could they shoehorn the Bills game in on Monday. I know the school would love to help out Doug Marrone.

The game on Monday night in the Dome makes sense. The Bills could prioritize tickets. Save 500 for Jets fans. SU students on T'gving break but SU staff at work. Perfect. NFL Network could broadcast the game.

Can we give Pete Sala and his crew a little bit of a break? They've been working all week to get the Dome ready for the AHL game and to ask them to get a football set-up for Monday (w/ new hash marks) and then get the Dome back for hoops on Tuesday is asking a bit too much.

"We could definitely do Monday," Sala said. "Wouldn't that be fun? Monday Night Football followed with basketball on Tuesday. I would have loved it. It would have been great."

I would absolutely love to do this and would go back to my facility side and work around the clock to make it happen... however... See you in Detroit on Monday

I'm really surprised Detroit is apparently the answer. I know it's the closest domed NFL stadium, but still...you would think maybe trying to do Toronto, or Syracuse, would be easier considering the distance to each site.

Not real easy for Bills fans to drive to Detroit either...two border crossings.

its officially not in buffalo.

they said no to toronto based on passports & visas or something.

I just saw it tweeted that it's pretty much decided that the game will be played either in Detroit or DC on Monday. So much for the Dome option.

What a stupid decision. Syracuse makes sense for everyone involved. Both teams, and fans are within 4 hours from Syracuse. Its centrally located and perfect.

the dome doesn't have the updated wireless stuff for replay

Yep.

@ProFootballTalk: Syracuse isn't an option for Jets-Bills because it lacks the technology, wiring, etc. for replay review, coach-to-QB, injury monitoring.

Couldn't they just use messenger pigeons? It is probably just as quick.

A case study on SU's administrative cheapness and how it is limiting progress on the sports side. An NFL game in the dome would have been really nice. I hope this lights a fire under someone's as- and gives more credence to those who would like to see more invested into the dome and programs that generate money on the hill.

Yeah. They should have known a snow storm would cause the Bills to move a game. If only Lloyd Christmas was in charge on the Hill.

As the quote goes, "fortune favors the prepared mind." My point isn't predicting snowstorms. It's about having facilities that can handle events like this one...or even things like a preseason nfl game. We can stick our heads in the sand and so "oh well, can't predict snowstorms" or recognize the more important point that we weren't even considered an option, which rules us out for other things like, say, preseason football games. I would much prefer a modern day version of Melvin Eggers be in charge on the hill when it comes to sports.
