After seeing the early -6.5 line I was talking about absolute sure fire get out another mortgage plus borrow millions from an orphanage's operating budget level bets that I have seen over my life and realized they have almost all gone the other way. Very happy these bets have just been in my head.

I have very intentionally NOT put this game in that category, but only because of my recent self-realization of my reverse cursing powers. That said, and again I am not putting any unintended voodoo on this, if our fellas do what they do it should be fun!!

All that said… WAZZU was already limping into this game, having lost their final 3 straight games at full strength:
5-7 New Mexico 38-35
5-7 Oregon St 41-38
3-9 Wyoming 15-14

and is now down QB1 and their entire upper coaching staff.

All that said… WAZZU is limping into this game, having lost 3 games at full strength:

5-7 Oregon St 41-38
3-9 Wyoming 15-14

and is now down QB1 and their entire upper coaching staff.

No game is ever easy. You need to treat every game as a possible loss.
Games always have funny bounces, and the team needs to be locked in at the beginning of the game, and stay that way.

Another way to look at their coaching staff turnover is that it will make it impossible to prepare for what they might throw at us.

We can't assume we will win because of how bad the other team is. We have yet to play 4 strong quarters of football in the same game. We've had a lot of bad first quarters. and bad second quarters after good first quarters. I hope we don't keep the underdog in it. We've also allowed some leads to dwindle and had to grab on-sides kicks in games we had totally dominated. Let's jump on them and dominate for four quarters!

If their backup QB happens to be very good this could be a close game that's the unknown.

Both teams were required to participate.

That’s not Fran - that’s the Holiday Bowl.

WSU may only be down a few players but one is the guy responsible for about 4000 of their 5200 or so yards of offense, as both their top QB and leading rusher. Plus, yeah, a lot of portal guys are allegedly playing but with one foot out the door, which matters.

I get that the game lacks a bit of luster, but if we win, we win 10 games and finish definitely in the Top 20 and possibly in the Top 15. No asterisk whatsoever next to it.

That’s how I feel too. But I can’t tell you with a high percentage of certainty that’s now how all will categorize it.

No one will care about the details, 10 wins sells, finishing inside the top 20 does too. There won’t be an asterisk, lots of bowls match up a depleted team against a non-depleted team in this day and age. Just like no one cares if a team goes 5-7 but played a brutal schedule, all that is talked about is 5-7

Almost every game we played this year except Holy Cross was stressful in some capacity. I’m not jinxing anything and Wazzou could easily play hard like a wounded animal, but it would be really nice to just kick another teams ass from start to finish to punctuate this great season.
