Boeheim's Reaction To The New AD

Mike Hopkins' reaction to Boeheim's reaction of Wildhack hire...

Hopkins (in my view) is a great 2nd in command. Former player who knows how to bridge the gap between the players and grandpa. Not so certain I'm comfortable with him as HC though. It would be great if this caused him to take a lesser job for a couple of years - to get his sea legs. And JB hung on until 2020 or so. JMO.

Honestly, this nothing more than click-bait.

Wasn't his leaving based on an agreement between himself and the school following the violations? I'd be beyond shocked if JAB even considers staying beyond his stated 2017-18 season.

The article is clickbait, only because it doesn't have much info. But I'd be beyond shocked if JB feels the slightest need to honor the "retirement date" announced last year. He will retire when he wants to. Period.

JB's quote about SU being in "hot pursuit" of more players to help is somewhat notable, though.

JAB has earned the right to call his own exit...no doubt. And he did just that by proclaiming 2017/18 would be it. As much as I respect and revere the man for everything he's done, I'm ready for the Hopkins era to begin.

Its a slap in the face for Mike if JAB decides to reneg on his promise to leave after 17/18.

Just laughed out loud picturing them trying to recreate the Duke sport coat incident, or the in game nose pick.

I swear those were the two things I was thinking. Then I was imagining who the guy in charge of the pick would be, both Hop and Gmac were gritty players, I could see them both in the mud.

Yes...that's the news here after the initial reaction.
And what may be significant is the use of the plural: "players."

Damn straight. Unless Hop or someone else has already signed a contract with an effective takeover date which would in turn require a contractual end date with Jimmy B. But nothing points to that. And you bet your arse his boys know what's up.

Boeheim4life b****s. Hatersgonna.

Hope Hop gets in as scheduled. The "he's a hip assistant because he likes Pearl Jam" thing is fading, considering the players weren't born when they peaked, and probably wouldn't be into them, anyway.

I know JB calls his own shots and has earned that right. But I'm not too sure that's the case this time. His announced retirement date was made during the NCAA fiasco and along with Syveruds "blessing". This is one time JB may not have the final say.
