BREAKING: AJ Long injured ... Wilson to start vs Duke

As far as replacements go this guy is available

Shafer was a QB. I say we suit up the Coach.

Interested to see what Wilson can do in a full game with a game plan tailored to his strengths.

Hopefully the OL is functional. Duke hasn't brought much pressure this year. Pitt steamrolled them last week on the ground.

That is a shame for AJ. Could care less about a red shirt year. Austin gets another chance that he may not have gotten if AJ stayed healthy. Gotta believe that Troy Green is #3 since he likely has the most familiarity with the offense and the QB position in the offense than any other "non-QB/former QB" on the roster. I hope the boys keep their head up and realize they still have a chance to win some games. As much as I like AJ it's not like SU's offense was suddenly proficient with him in there. This season is gone. In the Spring we'll have at least 3 QB with some starting experience and hopefully a January enrollee that has a mixture of the other's qualities and makes it a real 4 man competition. I think the door may have just opened a crack to the possibility of a true freshman starting game 1 next year.

My fear for this week is tat we try to take the pressure off the QB and try to control the ball and clock. That will make sense to many but as someone else said, Duke is going to score 30+ no matter what we do. Our only hope to win is not trying to limit Duke's offense but trying to outscore them somehow some way. I have very little confidence in this coaching staff's adjustments for this situation.

Hope we at least give Kimble a chance in the red zone to give us a dual threat. Ironically enough Duke had a special Dual-threat QB for RZ last year

If we pull a GT vs Pitt and cause 6 TO's in the first quarter we might have a chance.

Didn't we do something similar to that against ND and tick away our opportunities?

your attempts to bring this thread back to normal will fail

As long as we don't read something like this I'll be okay,

"The safety call was the pivotal point in the game. With the score tied at 13-13 late in the third quarter, Quarterback Troy Nunes dropped back to pass on second down and 10 from his own 22. Under pressure from Michigan rushers, Nunes scrambled in a zigzag pattern, moving backward gradually. After a lengthy chase into his end zone, he threw upfield toward the right side line. The ball fell untouched and, with the closest receiver yards away, the officials called intentional grounding, giving Michigan a safety and a 15-13 lead."

So please, no safeties from the 22 yd line.

The defense will need to score on the opportunities because the offense sure as hell won't.
