what did he write?I am not a fan of Axe but his article last week was about the nicest way to say what had to be said.
JB better respect that.
Cliff notes summary please.Apparently he blasts me on this 26 min interview
So this is a scary statement. It's pretty revealing that Boeheim frames the discussion around a minutes total.
I didn't see much of an effort.in Clemson Sat.
EVERYTHINGWhat do this year's minutes have to do with Joe being good last year??
1 hour and 8 mins
I want to know what happened to joe mentally. Last year he was fiery. Wanted to compete and would get in ppls faces and talk a lot. This year I’m not seeing it. I mean he doesn’t have much to say really based on play but his attitude is just different. What do this year's minutes have to do with Joe being good last year??
No one is saying any of those things and the way he chooses to frame the discussion is disingenuous.
(1) No one is seriously faulting the team for not playing hard, and if they do they're misguided and shouldn't get the bulk of attention. Its not an effort question. Buddy/JG3 can't stop quick guards, Marek can't gain 50lbs overnight, and Quincy can't grow 5 inches.
(2) Playing Kadary 40 minutes is not the issue, but again, its ironic he can't go 40 because he's not in shape, but Buddy goes 35+ every game...to get into shape?!? Got it.
(3) Limiting Joe's minutes and adjusting his role is not "throwing him under the bus". You now have better options at PG and SG, so why not be more flexible? He doesn't have to do just one thing, each and every game.
Oh, and last year, has absolutely nothing to do with what's happening now. Last year JB emphatically declared JG was his PG, and Jalen was demoted...end of story. This year despite KR being more effective as a true PG, by almost every measure, you can't adjust to the situation and change things up? Ridiculous.
Also known as gaslighting.JGIII last year was 35% FG and 32% 3PT. His PER was the lowest out of any of the guys who got real minutes, along with his eFG and TS.
Not sure how JB is measuring effectiveness in his statement.
It's just one more instance of JB 1) saying something that isn't true and 2) to the point above, what does that have to do with the current situation?
