Maybe that's why Kadary is always on the exercise bike during games, to show that he isn't tired? I have never noticed a player use it as much as him but I freely admit it isn't something I usually care about either.

JB is losing his marbles...our interior definitely hurts us without having a legitimate 5 and Griffin learning the rotations still...but cmon! Anyone can see that our guards (buddy/jg3) when up top let shooters take wide open looks as well as letting the ball into the high post easily/guys blow by them. Its so much more then just our interior. He tries too hard to justify the play of some vs others. So Frustrating!

It's weird he completely discounts stats that are bad, but then justifies everything else by saying, but "they're top 10 in......" As if one end he's able to apply nuance, but in the other it's all just numbers.

I want to know what happened to joe mentally. Last year he was fiery. Wanted to compete and would get in ppls faces and talk a lot. This year I’m not seeing it. I mean he doesn’t have much to say really based on play but his attitude is just different.
Food coma

So this is a scary statement. It's pretty revealing that Boeheim frames the discussion around a minutes total.

He legitimately expects that players should play 35-40 minutes a game.

I joke about his final innovation being 5X40, but, uhm... yeah.

He has said that before. His belief is that with so many timeouts, the game is practically played in 5 minute spurts. There's no reason a player shouldn't be able to play 35-40 minutes.

Sigh.

JB intimidated the heck out of Axe.

Adam schein wouldnt have been intimidated neither would Danny Parkins shame on the local station at the time for letting him getaway. I like Axe but when it comes to JB Axe is like a jellyfish.

Parkins went to Kansas City and then to Chicago - both larger markets. What is the local station supposed to do about that?

Huh? The local stations didn't let Schein and Parkins get away. They were leaving for bigger and better things at some point and not staying on Syracuse radio forever.

Axe You dont think had opportunities to leave for big better things ?

Many good thoughts and points in this thread so I won't repeat them but go to a different frustration that I have with Boeheim. START KADARY. If he can only play 28-30 minutes (which is bs), then fine. At least we get out of the gate the best we can as a team instead of having to bring Kadary in when we're 8-10 points down. We all like Joe, but would like him even more coming off the bench and playing 20 minutes or so. If he's playing really well, great, ride him. But, if he (and Buddy) aren't playing well, guess what you do? Boeheim's answer unfortunately is more minutes to allow them to shoot out of it.

Play whoever you want whenever you want. But, at the end of the day, please fully assume responsibility for the outcome of those decisions - good, bad, or indifferent - without throwing the players/fans/media under the bus. To me, there has been a steady increase over the last 5-6 seasons in the extent and inconsistency of JB's rationalizations, cherry picking stats to support decision making, and pointing blame at some players and not others. It speaks volumes about the internal struggle JB must be experiencing regarding the decline of the program as he nears the end of his HOF career. I feel for JB is this regard.

I sincerely hope that JB can go out on a high note. But I fear that he might be his own worse enemy at this point.

Pay him more to stay. Also the non sports radio here locally lost Jim Reith our drive time radio guy left bout the same time. Now we have a guy named snozzberry on local 570 afternoons and local sports radio got the Manchild and his lap dog boy green who only got the job because he was a student of manchild and was his teachers pet. Then we got some nobody with the show call the sportszilla show on the other station between orange nation and axe.

Axe is a little bit different as he is from the area where Parkins and Schein were not. I don't mind Axe but I don't think he is in the same ballpark when it comes to talent as the other 2. Syracuse is a very small market in the grand scheme of things.
