Brian Kelly to LSU

And neither will ND

If ND played in the ACC……they would be in
Didn't seem to hurt their chances in two of the last three years. ND won't be in the CFP this year because their team is not good enough, not because they don't play in the ACC. If ND joins a conference it would make a lot more sense to join the B1G.

Ehhhh not so much.

ND is VERY loyal to those that help them….the ACC threw them a bone by allowing them to play in the ACC for football last season. They also threw them a bone by allowing all their other sports to play in the ACC but allow them to keep independent for football.

If their football ever joins a conference I would assume that it would be the ACC

1 loss ACC Champ ND definitely gets a look from the committee. Not saying they’re in, but they’d have a real shot.

You might be right about them sticking with the ACC but here's the reality - they're not joining any conference and having been selected 2x in the last three years only emboldens them to remain independent.

Some years yes and some years no. Not this year. Not an ACC team ranked in the top 15. Where would the quality wins come from? They would have had to go undefeated with that type of schedule imo.

Especially if the CFP is expanded which is all but certain to happen sometime.

Would assume Fickell is number 1
Most likely but there will be a push for Freeman because he is already there. That said, assistant coaches usually do not fare well as first time HC at ND.

Lol you think there’s integrity in this sport???? This d1 college football we are talking here

Pretty sure that the ND/ACC agreement requires ND to join the ACC if they join a conference

Only maybe from the scheduling that would probably not have included the ND/Cincy game, without which Cincy isn't in CFP contention and an undefeated ND might be

Wonder if it will finally dawn on ND that not being in a P5 conference hurts them? Or was this just straight up about money? Also I don’t feel sorry one bit for ND fans. Now that’s a team I love to hate.

If PITT or Wake had gone undefeated, they would have been in. ND gets a “we’re ND bounce”

They were an ACC football member last year. If they went undefeated in the weaker ACC this year, it would be like Clemson's record for their good years and ND would be in.
