While I am not advocating for Steve Addazio to be our next head coach, he does possess many of the qualities for a successful coach at Syracuse.

He has northeast roots, is a strong recruiter, believes in a strong OL/DL and run first mentality. He has a fiery personality that resonates with a blue collar community.

I know many will say he is a meathead coach but obviously a coach from outside of the Northeast who plays wide open spread or a pro scheme does not seem to work at Syracuse.

Using the above characteristics as a model for our new coach who might be available in the next 1-2 years to replace Ohana?

Not an outrageous suggestion. He plays the kind of football that can win at Syracuse. He would never get us 10 wins but he would get us to a bowl every year.

He's starting to win some games at CSU ... Also played Iowa very tough

He is a great offensive line coach. He needs. Passing Game coordinator as help. He does get to bowl games and his teams are tough. One issue is fan support. Will fans pay $$ to see a more 1970's-80's style O...even with bowl games? Thiere is entertainment factor...you are trying to fill seats

Winning fils seats. How we doin now?

I wouldn’t hate it but we can do better and the Dome is an advantage that should allow us not to be shackled to the traditional run first personality of the Northeast.
I have heard this argument for the past 20 years. If any coach from outside the Northeast has any success at Syracuse they are gone.

Who cares at this point if a coach leaves.
It will mean we have had a good season and should have players ready for the next coach.
Syracuse football is never getting a lifer coach unless it’s an alum and even then if they killed it they would like get a godfather offer.

As long as we are talking about former SU assistants, I would probably rather give Tim Lester a shot. He is 58-45 at Western Michigan and is a pretty good offensive mind. He recruited Dungey and he gave LSU a run for their money surprising them with with Mahoney running the triple option.

He is 45 and good Midwestern recruiting ties, which is good for linemen!

He grinded out some 6 and 7 win seasons and is sitting at 3-6 at Colorado State now. Where's the upside in something like that?
Better than Dino has been doing except fo one season playing with Shafer's recruits. He is 27-39 with one bowl in 5 (completed) seasons.
Brisly Estime
Chris Slayton
Steve Ishmael
Zaire Franklin
Jamal Custis
Ervin Phillips
Denzel Ward
Aaron Roberts
Eric Dungey
Dontae Strickland
Evan Adams
Sterling Hofrichter
Moe Neal (recruited by Shafer and kept by Babers)
I think I have these right.
