Woah. I knew about Mason Powell (actually had to play against him in high school) but had no idea there was a 5th brother. Either way certainly seems like a name worth keeping an eye on

If you look up Mike Powell’s profile on Syracuse lacrosse it lists him having four brothers and two sisters.. the kid says in his bio that the Powell brothers are his uncles

Woah. I knew about Mason Powell (actually had to play against him in high school) but had no idea there was a 5th brother. Either way certainly seems like a name worth keeping an eye on

im pretty sure most people didnt know there was a 5th one, cuz most of the stuff about Mason lists him as the youngest of the 4 Powell brothers, i think Jason just got forgotten cuz I'm not sure to what extent he himself played.

Mason graduated from HS in 2012. Jason has to be older.

I hope GG does better than Desko did with Colsey. I know he was after someone better and we're thrilled to have him but it knocked us out of potentially getting 3.

We are giving SEC message boards a run for their money. I didn’t know the Powell family had their own Cooper Manning! IL gives him an 85, but they give most recruits a ranking between 84-87 so not sure what that means. Here’s his writeup:

“A lefty who played mostly at X vs. Evolve, he converted an open catch and finish on the crease, showed decent speed up the lefty hash.

Against 2Way, he had an unreal one-handed catch, reload and shoot to cut his team’s deficit to one. Then had a filthy hesitation on a stepdown that froze the defense and he carried to five yards for an easy score.”

I know that, he is the oldest, the only reason outside of Brody's recruiting profile why I know who he is is that he is mentioned like once in one of Casey's storytimes on the Powell Lax website about helping plan his wedding or something iirc

UVA got the oldest Colsey, then the younger one transferred from UVA after redshirting his first year due to injury (not due to lack of playing time or anything like that). Then the youngest one committed to a completely different rival ACC school. Not sure this is the best example anymore. If anything it shows that pursing one family member guarantees nothing.

Jason is the oldest brother. He went to lemoyne but never played lacrosse. Coach V didn’t bring lacrosse to Carthage until after Jason had graduated.
