Loved Buddy’s aggressiveness tonight and that we decided to actually run him off screens instead of just straight isolation. There’s no reason we can’t be the second best team in the ACC. I am not saying it will happen, but we have the pieces to do it. Now about the free throw shooting….

Benny needs to be better if he wants more time. He missed a couple of rebounds on defense he needed to get. 17 minutes with just two rebounds is not good enough for someone with his athleticism. I was particularly disappointed when he grabbed the ball and stepped out of bounds.

i didnt catcht the whole game only parts of it...but from what i saw they were running sets and plays on offense and it worked very well...pin downs and screens pick and rolls etc...and it worked so well...even with the bad free throw shooting...the flow on offense was very good. i really feel the offense can be so much better if it is carefully planned and uses TEAMWORK to score.

Brown is a small team...and this syracuse squad can feast on that type of matchup generally.

The team seems to be improving.

when buddy can cook his man...and score consistently it takes the team to another level...and when hes off but still shooting high volume... its tough for the team to play well

I think the coaches realize that the bench players are necessary and have to play more minutes - at least i hope so...cuz i think that is the case. Symir has gotten a lot better from the start of the season...the improvement is drastic. he can be a weapon. i like what frank is doing too...benny was still 3-6 in the game...so thats a good sign...but he still seems a bit tentative out there...still figuring it out.

JB seemed a bit down in the post game presser...I feel bad for him with all of the criticism (ive been a part of that)...i know he cares a lot...its gotta be tough especially this season...makes me regret saying anything even though some of the coaching decisions this season have been questionable.

I’ve never seen a player that always seems to be in “the wrong place - wrong time” on a basketball court as much as him. It’s incredible to watch.

Benny had one good move going to his left. He’s used that a couple times this year. It looks much more fluid and natural than his move to the right ending in a short fadeaway that he pulls the string on. He holds the shot until he is descending rather than just releasing it softly at the top of his jump. His defender tonight had no chance of blocking that if he releases it at the highest point of his jump.

Neither Bennie nor Torrence had a better looking shot after all the practice time they had. Sy made a shot but it wasn’t good form.Gmac please work harder with both players.

Has nothing to do with our season or this game but covid has made this season feel like last season again. I look forward to the games but it’s hard to get into the season given all the uncertainty.

Hopefully we sneak into the tournament because that was the only enjoyable part of the season last year as a college hoops junkie. It sucks.

I mean here comes debbie downer but guys, it was Brown. Yes they made a game with UNC but they havent beaten anyone. They arent very good

They took Colorado to the final possession as well. They aren't going to be a resume booster like UB was the one year but they aren't garbage either. It matters none but this wasn't some crap team.

and who is celebrating it like we beat a good team? uh thanks for the preemptive REALNESS lol
I mean the guy who made this thread thinks that after that game, we could be the 2nd best team in the ACC…like did we forget about the 5+ games we looked pretty awful?

I call that celebrating? No?

that was probably more a statement about the ACC than it was anything else. If you don't think we COULD be the 2nd best team in the ACC, then you might not be paying much attention to the ACC.

Also, if you more than triple the point spread for a game, it's a positive sign. Certainly a better sign than if we eeked out a win, yes?

Brown is marginal at best. Guys looked good. Just glad we got to play.
Marginal at best ? They’re as good as teams we’ve lost to . The boys put it on em good and for the second time this year turned it up in the second half

I was particularly impressed with the Jessie / joe high screen and roll dynamic that they seem to have ironed out with all this practice time

The success of a screen isn’t only dependent on the screener, but also the motion / action of the player the screen is being set for .. you have to properly run your defender into the screen cleanly if you want it to work .. and joe seems to have figured that part out
