Bryan Blair: New Syracuse AD ??

Seems like a good hire to me.

I think I would have preferred Carp due to his industry connections and positioning us for realignment down the line, was seemingly a bigger "heavy hitter" in the industry. But hey if we win and have great NIL, this seems like it would be great and conference realignment would sort itself out
Agree to all the above ^^^

This guy is super impressive. His resume is stacked. I’m happy.

He holds a law degree from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College, where he played four seasons of Division I football and was a team captain and Defensive Lineman of the Year.

Went for a walk and the dome is glistening right now. It’s a sign of happiness

Once this is confirmed, hat tip to the selection committee. Appears the process was thorough and they didn’t take any of the easy ways out.
First 2 hires seems to be Home Runs, that's a good start to the offseason.

“Those of us that are maybe a little bit younger in the industry are not bound by what we used to do or what we had to do or tradition,” Blair said. “And certainly being at an institution that’s willing to lean forward and embrace it [is helpful]. … I think that this new change in landscape benefits those with a little bit of a cleaner slate in terms of painting what the future can be unrestricted by what the past was.”

Yep and I’m good with it. Age doesnt always mean better or more experience. Give me some youth and enthusiasm.
Take a look at our world at some of the people who have accomoplished so much by the time they were 40. Without getting political look at those who have or are serving in government/negotiating positions. Corportate world has plenty of whizzes in their 30s and early 40s. Age is nothing but a number.

That’s why getting younger is so key. People are concerned about experience and it’s important but the landscape is so drastically different that 20 years on the job isn’t all that
Yes. He is asked a question about the changing world in athletics and how he has dealt with it, and his answer is that is the only world he has known and dealt with. How refreshing that he gets it.

From what I could find, it looks like he made two coaching hires. Softball and Women’s Soccer. Here are their records (inc. softball so far this year).

Women’s Soccer
19-34-19

Softball
69-94

Let’s hope we don’t get a curveball for basketball.
Clearly that's the standard to measure ADs, the powerhouse sports of soccer and softball.
It's a big old fat nothing burger.
NIL and football succeded under his watch, case closed. VERY solid hire.
