Bubble Watch - Conf Tourney Saturday (Still Alive)

Not really bubble related, but if true it's interesting and a reminder that the opinions of the people picking these brackets mean zero. Everyone had UNC as a sure #1, Lunardi even posted an article about it being a done deal.

Nobody knows how the committee is evaluating these teams, and everybody is just guessing until tomorrow night

I think Duke wins tonight they are getting a one seed.

Coach K sure likes giving up on those kids with hard last names to spell.

Gifted Silent G to Syracuse and now Ojeleye to SMU.

Vitale and Boehiem kept saying 3 top 10 wins. I agree with you, I prefer to call it 3 top 18 wins though lol

I get by why Boeheim does, and I don't expect anything from Vitale, so whatever. Probably bugs me more than it should, but what can i say?

I would give VCU a bid just because they have a caveman on their team. In fact, I would give them a 1 seed. He's my new favorite player.
I thought it was a Yeti or a newer version of Teen Wolf.

Nevada is 9-5 against the top 100, and only 1 bad loss.
(0-1 vs top 50) Can't really use that against them... to try to compare apples and oranges, the rankings are 55/47/55 for Nevada. Avg of 52 which shows they are on the border of being legit tourney team

Don't have them in, but have their chances above 10% anyway.
The committee hasn't played the "can't hold it against them" alternative universe game in a few years. They've been all about results. Just ask last year's Valparaiso, South Carolina and Monmouth.

Nevada has 0 chance of getting in as an at-large unless the committee decides to completely change the criteria this year. Which I guess is always possible.

Like someone said earlier - beating a #1 would be very helpful for our cause.

Apparently it was Colorado in 2009. I don't know how often it happened before that. That Colorado team had a 331 OOC SOS though.
Where did you see this? I am curious since I don't believe this is correct. The 08-09 colorado team won 9 games total (0 in top 50). The 09-10 colorado team went 15-16 with 1 top 50 win.

A masterpiece of a show. Finished a couple months ago and been suffering withdrawals. And just accidentally discovered Better Call Saul while streaming a movie on AMC. During a break out of the corner of my eye caught none other than Gus advertising Los Pollos Hermanos. I was like whaaa? Third season premiere Apr 10. Plenty of time to catch up on the first two ... especially if our bubble is popped tomorrow (obligatory on-topic reference.) Hope it's half as good as the original.
You just discovered Better Call Saul? Have you been living under a rock?!

Funny thing - people mentioned how ironic it would be if Colorado State got the Tourney and Gillon did not. Well, it seems like AW3's final 3 teams were VCU, Miami and Cuse - Miami and VCU will also be getting in

Probably 2011 Colorado?

They beat Missouri (47- based on the site I found), Kansas State x3 (22), Texas (11). So I'm seeing 5.

Horrendous OOC schedule

I find it funny how Palm hammers our # of road wins but haven't seen him hammering Vandy who would be the first team ever to make it with 15 losses. He only wants to report the facts that suit his projections.

Sorry I think you're right. I knew it was Colorado but I forgot the exact year.

It was in an Andy Bottoms article - maybe it was 5 as well, not 6

Could take it as the opposite too. I hope you are right. I do tend to think/agree barring a bid stealer that the committee has decided our fate already one way or the other.

Yep. My bottom line is it's getting old being on the bubble. Is that what we are now..a bubble program? I hope we squeak in. It shouldn't come to this.

I can't believe all 4 of those Big East teams are ahead of us. The Hall and Marquette maybe.

We are going to make it and I don't see us in Dayton.
your lips to god's ears

Ok that makes sense. It looks like Colorado St was #50 at the end of the conference tournaments, though fell in the final rpi at the end of the tourney.

If Duke beats ND I believe they will get a #1 seed, they'll be the ACC champion. It's good policy for the Selection Committee to reward the conference champion over the regular season champion when both are vying for a one seed.

I think we are all kind of sick of it, its time to man up and become Syracuse again, hopefully next year.
