Buddy Boeheim such a great kid

And the 2010 team was one of the most fun teams to watch and very likeable.
Yup. LOVED that team! My mom died Oct. 2009 and that team got me through the next 6 months. Plus, I had splurged for primo season tickets behind Julie Boeheim and that was great as well. When AO went down in the BE I knew we were screwed. But what a year! What a year.

Woe is me

Interesting interpretation of yours, although not surprising. One’s own thinking is the sole property of its owner.

If you see my post as being negative, you only view the most orange tinged posts as being positive. Anyone that pays attention to my posting can attest that I'm one of the more even posters on the board. If you see the part you bolded as being negative, I don't know what to say. I simply said we don't know.

You seem to indicate that the staff is infallible. I don't agree. Regardless of how many wins a coach has or how much he is paid, he can still make mistakes. As with most of us, my opinions are based on my time watching the team. In my case that's a bit over 30 years. I know in the past I have seen a few guys that got no playing time play well when suddenly forced into action due to the injury of another player. Did those players suddenly develop over the course of a few practices? Did they play better because they didn't have to look over their shoulders? Did they always have it but were not given the opportunity to show it? I would guess it's some sort of combination.

Right now we have some guys that have played big minutes all year playing better than they did earlier in the season. We have some guys getting more time than they did earlier in the season that are making key contributions. I believe that those are not attributable to simply one circumstance and is more likely the combination I mentioned in my previous post. I won't apologize if you think that's a negative take.
I admit that you touched on the side of an issue I wanted to address and I jumped on it to make a point. My intention was not to personally attack you or your posting history, which I am not at all familiar with.

My point is that I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say the majority of the posts on the board this year have been criticisms of Boeheim for not knowing who to play and for not trying hard enough to recruit better players. In my opinion this is over the top, unjustified, negativity ... not to mention boringly repetitive.

I feel like we as a board should try to use this successful run to rethink the culture around here.

Nobody needs to think SU is winning every game, or even think SU is any good. Like every college program in this age of basketball there will be times when we are good and times when we are not. If we could just (1) stop acting like late season success is an unforeseeable miracle when it is actually the norm for us and (2) assume that our coach who is in the small handful of most accomplished people in the history of his profession can at least competently perform the bare basic requirements of his job, then this board would be a much more positive more intellectually interesting place.

Oh, stop.

“Play Kadary and Edwards more”, was not a vicious attack. No need to drama things up to try to be a victim.
How many times has Buddy only played because of nepotism been uttered? It was most definitely ugly at times. Quit trying to bring the cancel culture to the board, it happened, deal with it don't excuse it.

Would the new "culture" here also mean that people wouldn't childishly lash out at those who have differing viewpoints on basketball?

I figure that would be more "intellectually interesting"

I’m not sure you even know what this means. I have no idea what you’re even talking about. Send them letters to the correct address.

OK...NOW I’m really leaving this drama Queen thread. I swear.

How did this thread get here? We have an enemy in our sights and it's Western Virginia. I want to follow everybody's posting. Call a truce for a while.

I think if we were getting single digit seeds as opposed to sweating out the selection show, then I could see your point. The problem many of us have is that we put ourselves in position to be screwed over by the committee and we're fortunate that has not happened in recent years. The regular season is how many of us survive the cold, dark upstate winters. When we're nationally irrelevant for those 4 months it creates misery and frustration that spills over into the culture that you are addressing.
