Buffalo Bills 2019

Well I didn't have this as win at the beginning of the year. But coming into the game, thought we could take them after how the Eagles have been playing. Didn't exactly rise to the occasion when the competition level stepped up

Not at all. Embarrassing job by the defense.

I hope a few players/draft picks are expendable after this performance... Namely everyone on the DL not named Oliver/Phillips/Hughes. Front 7 dominated by Philly today.

On offense, I thought Josh Allen played decent enough... no running game and John Brown is our only playmaker on the outside.

Pretty much sums it up

Edmunds looked completely lost today

Everyone does. Just a complete dumpster fire performance by a team that is above average but not elite by any measure. Coasted by on those rankings against bad teams, only to get their soul ethered by Philly.

On offense... I think we desperately need a playmaker opposite Brown. Not sure if we trade for that or wait for the offseason, but it’s quite apparent.

Playoff caliber... yea, I think so.. but any hopes I had of being more than that this year, nahhh, not as currently constructed. Shockingly my reasoning for that is our defense. Our offense is still super new and led by a young QB. I expect them to get better. Our defense has zero excuses.

Truth be told, I was never really sold on the defense. We don't have a consistent pass rush, and don't cause enough turnovers. I think that the Harrison Phillips injury was bigger than most imagined. And our safeties - who by and large have played very well this season - are not physical at all.

Today, not sure why, but we didn't use the middle of the field AT ALL in the pass game.

I had Jordan Howard on my fantasy bench and my opponent had Miles Sanders on their bench. So we're doing a good job racking up bench points

The defense was "Syracuse good" today. Gashed left and right, but still "Syracuse good"...

What is Chris Myers talking about ..."The Bills defense hung in there for a while"? They didn't force a single punt in the third quarter, while giving up 2 TD drives.

Well need to regroup, continued lack of pass rush is killing this team onn3rd along with Allen continuing to turn the ball over at the worst times. As LIC noted we desperately need another playmaker and Dabol has to be worlds better. Just completely abandoned the run after Gore gashed them that one drive

Bizarre to think we were about to head to the locker room, most likely up 7-3 at half... fumble leads to 8 and a complete meltdown by the defense for the rest of the game.

Looked like the defense wasn't even trying at times, including on the TD "drive" at the end of the 1st half.

I had this game pegged as a loss before even knowing the weather conditions. Weather played right into the Eagles’ hands too. Sucks to lose but at the end of the day, it’s one game and they gotta move on to the next one.

Run defense is the Achilles heel of the defense. Offense continues to be pretty lackluster and the weather made it difficult to take advantage of the Eagles’ porous secondary.

The Star and Andre Roberts signings were laughably bad the moment they were signed and getting worse with each passing day.

A run stuffing DT that absorbs double teams except he actually gets single teamed and still can’t beat that.

And a return specialist in a league that forces him to call fair catch or take a touchback almost every snap he’s on the field. Two complete wastes of money.

There’s a great thread on TSW about our defense being built to be the modern 2020 defense...

We get pressure (sacks are another story), have linebackers that fly around in coverage and a strong secondary.

Only problem is that we’re susceptible to big, physical running attacks. Only made worse by Star’s regression and the loss of Harry forcing Peko into the rotation.

McD/Frazier need to figure this out because we’re going to see a steady dose of it until they do.

Star hasn’t regressed really though. He’s been bad for like 5 years now.

Might just show more given we have no space eaters. Phillips is a big guy, but he and Oliver are best used as penetrating DT’s.

Gotta beat The Skins and figure out how to stop Chub when we play the Browns as the blueprint is out there on how to beat the Bills. Beat Skins, Jets, Phins, and two more wins versus Browns, Broncos, Ravens and Steelers.

This game reminded me of the Saints game two years ago, where we just got trounced versus a better team. Eagles played well yesterday and when they gave the bills an opening with the muffed punt they did nothing. McDermott always seems to rally the troops when they need it.

Offense is so frustrating because they look like they can run the ball effectively on a conisistent basis but they are so quick to abandon the run game for no apparent reason. whether he loses them or not I think Josh has something like 18 fumbles in 18 starts, I think he's lost 5 or 6. ( Not sure this is 100% accurate but heard it on the radio driving home yesterday from game

Ridiculous number of Eagles fans there yesterday.

And yes if they can get a run stopping DT by Tuesday well that would be nice. Good luck with that
