In state teams. Like PSU plays Temple. Mich played WMU. Texas played Houston. OSU played Cincy. UCLA played SDSU. NCST played ECU.
Temple-Penn State was a 2 for 1 series. Didn’t play this year and haven’t played since 2016. Syracuse would do that for Buffalo. 2014, 2016 in State College. 2015 in Philadelphia

Michigan-Western Michigan was a paycheck game for Western. Westner Michigan aren’t getting a home game. Syracuse would do that for Buffalo.

Ohio State-Cincinnati was a paycheck for Cincinnati. Cincinnati aren’t getting a home game from Ohio State. Syracuse would do that for Buffalo.

Texas hasn’t played Houston in football since 2002 when they played a 2 for 1 series. 2000,2002 in Austin, 2001 in Houston. Syracuse would do that with Buffalo.

San Diego State-UCLA was a paycheck game for SDSU. SDSU isn’t getting a home game from UCLA. Syracuse would do with Buffalo.

NC State-East Carolina was a 3 for 2 series. 2018, 2019 2025 in Raleigh, 2022, 2028 in Greenville.

Maybe you should look stuff up before spouting this garbage.

My god Syracuse isn’t going to treat Buffalo like an equal. It literally makes no sense.

We're playing Army in 2023-24-25-26.
Do you consider Army a NY team? I am aware West Point is in NY. They don't really recruit FBS players either, though they play hard and smart. I think UB beat ARmy the last time they played.

Army beat UB 42-13 last year at UB, the last time they played each other, when UB was a 10 win MAC program

I love that you post this and it says Voice of Reason in your tagline.

We can be anything we want here.

I'm adding a tagline for myself. Straight guy with small head.
I feel special when you talk down to me Chip. Not as special as I do when Alsacs does it, but special none the less.

I’ll share some advice that my boss once gave me: “If you argue with an idiot, then you’re an idiot.”

There is always the timeless: “If you wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty and the pig likes it.”
Yeah I’m an idiot for whacking the troll but to be fair it’s a fun and easy game when said troll literally talks out of his a$$.

Only an idiot couldn't figure out for themselves that arguing with an idiot is idiotic.

CousCuse please stop.

Cuse as bad as we were this year literally would have won the MAC.

The two teams play in two different worlds.

I don't mind playing UB but sign them to a 2 for 1 once a decade.

The only way UB would start to challenge Cuse for NY State fans is if the Bills left town and they played in a real stadium and not in some poorly designed HS stadium on steroids in the suburbs

Temple, Cincy and Houston are all G5 teams that play in NFL cities and are doing quite well. Su does not have a rival of any real passion any longer. BC, the people in Boston are Notre Dame college football fans. Pitt, somewhat, but it is a long ride to go to a game at Pitt and visa versa. The southern ACC teams are very far away.

Buffalo and UMass will run northeastern football for the next 40 years.
UMASS got a decent recruiting class and will at least have closer to enough scholarship players to compete next season.

Aaaaaand, there's the UMass mention. Boy, those in-state rivals BC and UMass are really lighting up the college football world. Alabama/Auburn-like. Just barely 30K the last time they played, 25K the time before that.

If only, IF ONLY SU-Buffalo could become that successful.

Believe what you want, but doubling down on this whole scared thing will draw nothing but scorn and derision. Now, if that's what you are looking for, fine. But don't expect to change any minds. Syracuse is not scared of Buffalo.

Cincy ranked #62 in average attendance in 2019. Temple #74, Houston #80.

Buffalo #115.

They also have much higher quality HS football nearby than Buffalo.

I think if they scheduled a game with the Orange at the Ralph at this time, they could fill it. That would be something.
Once they get the Big 10 invite that was suppose to go to Umass their schedule will be fixed.

No no UMASS is still getting that invite, just a minor set back with the coaching change ;)

If you include me on the take you are getting for selling UB to SU fans I will back your play. I want 30 percent and a company car though.

`Syracuse is scared of Buffalo, at least that's the way it looks.
This game against Buffalo could generate the modern day in state antipathy that Colgate had, back in primordial times. We need something like this. It ain't the Iron Bowl, it ain't the Civil war, but it would be something.
If their the only other team in your state that isn't a military academy that plays FBS football, then yea, you're scared. Scared to lose face, like we are in Asia or something.
If you have a game that people from Utica to Buffalo, 3-4 million people, are interested in, I think it would surprise to the upside.
If UB beat SU, which at this point is not some remote possibility, it would be. Which brings me back to my original premise: Syracuse is scared to play Buffalo.

Nearly every time couscuse posts, this comes to my mind.
