If Syracuse ever had a "rivalry" with Buffalo, it would mean part of the P5 had split off, Syracuse didn't make the cut, and now Syracuse and Buffalo were both at whatever the G5 equivalent was. Which would be "not good".

That would be required since there is no way for a P5 and G5 to have a rivalry that had any significance to either fan base. That's the reason no such thing exists.

In 2019, rivalries are overrated anyway. If you ask an LSU fan who their rivals are, none of those opponents would consider LSU their primary rival. That hasn't held LSU back. Focusing any effort on building a rivalry is stupid.

But your argument is that Syracuse, a P5 wont schedule UB, a G5, due to being terrified. So to keep comparing apples to apples, I chose Alabam, a P5 and the other mentioned schools, because they're G5.
