Burn it all down. This is rock bottom

Totally agree on first part but no idea why you want to pick on CuseRunner? We can no longer control what happened, only what will happen in the future. My cup is half full, where is yours? Young team with potential and it can still go two ways. Why assume the negative. I have been an Orange fan for ever and I still want to have positive vibes. LGO

I think we need to be realistic in optimism.

We are young. We can get better. Our vets can play better. All true.

However, the head coach is going to be here for the near future and his quirks aren't going away.

For example, if he said tomorrow, Copeland and Mintz are the starting back court rest of the year and we're going to take some lumps along the way, but in the long run, this program will be better for it...and we went out and got spanked throughout the season. I think SOME (def not all) of us would be understanding.

Trotting out what we've seen for...how many years now? This feels like a repeat now for many, many years

There is no coming back from getting blown out by Colgate two years in a row, and there is not one conceivable advantage that Colgate athletics has over Syracuse. This should not be happening.

Boeheim IS burning it all down at this point.

He's going to keep chasing that former glory and keep getting further away from it.

He knows no other life.

LMAO nice you researched... Well JB has zero choice this year cause all he has is inexperienced guys. All the freshmen, Benny, Torrance, even Joe playing a new position. That team he put on the floor tonite was better than the team that payed Colgate last year and they would have not had a losing season if Jessie didnt get hurt (or did you forget that)... BTW you can save that :)
So you were wrong, correct?

Andy, Wes, Onuaku team?

Probably the last time I felt we had a good halfcourt offensive team that wasn’t reliant on Dion cooking guys.

The first part of the 2013 season we had a really good offense. It fell apart when we started losing games bottoming out with that 39 point dumpster fire at Georgetown. Focusing on defense saved that season but we’ve never been the same since.

Why not start coaching if you have all the answers?
“They tend to give those jobs to…ex ball players, or you know…people IN broadcasting.” - Jerry Seinfeld to George when he wanted to become a MLB commentator

You think I can walk in the door and get the Syracuse job?

You think I wouldn’t punch half of you, the refs, and other coaches in the face before halftime if I had that job?

You KNOW JB has nothing left when his couple defenders are like “why don’t YOU coach tEh team!” Good God.

Lol, not in the slightest. Program is an absolute train wreck. I’ve been calling this for years.
Sound like a pessimest. We can agree to disagree, not on the game, but on positive vs negative on Syracuse basketball.. No bones to pick with you personally. I just want to put a positive spin on a young season. May very well be in your camp before the end of the season. Just do not want to jump there after two games.

Verrrry true and easy to forget.

2012 was defense, running, depth, and Dion cooking people.

Early 2013 with MCW piling up 10+ assist games was looking promising. I recall a game at Arkansas where Southerland hit like 9 3’s and had 30+ points? MCW was looking like our best player since Carmelo early in that season.

* start a petition folks.

I will take the stupid job. I won’t crap on the players in post game conferences. I WILL freak out about charging calls, Pitt style clutch and grab defense, I will challenge Danny Hurley to a fight in the parking lot if we play UConn, and I will not play passive 2-3 zones against teams full of slow, white guy shooters.

Hire me. I’m in.

Not solid resume when you start with "the stupid job"!

I have to agree. JB should be seriously humiliated by this, and I have to assume that is. But more importantly it should be a wake up call that he doesn’t have the fastball anymore and he needs to hang ‘em up.

Joe looks completely disinterested.
Jesse was a mess tonight.

We only have 2 guys who can consistently (that’s a generous term) score from outside of of 3ft from the rim. Other than Mintz, the freshman will most likely struggle offensively for a while. It’s hard to count on more than 10ppg from Sy. Benny played well offensively tonight but yikes he can not be relied on as a scorer but he’s going ti play a ton of minutes. He has to be our best rebounder, but he still doesn’t look too good in that aspect.

All that above is a whole lot of uncertainty, especially offensively.

Gotta give Mintz the keys. He needs 34+mpg and to take more shots than any one.

I just feel like Joe hasn’t improved at all since he’s been here. Still some of the last close outs I’ve ever seen. Other than occasionally catching fire from 3 and an alley-oop or 2 to Jesse every game, there isn’t a ton there.

Jesse just looked bad tonight.

The defense seems like a major question mark.

We’ll be fine lol

I agree with you only because I have thoughts along the same line but do not want to go there yet. I feel this year is the test. He has a young team and it is up to him to make it a winning team or fail. Too soon to sy it is over after 2 games.

In between a pessimist and an optimist you will find a realist.

Very few greats go out on top. We have to hope he retires before he totally destroys what he built. Otherwise there may be no coming back for the program.
