SU 4783
Bye 0

The reserves get a lot of playing time in this one, with Dillon Markiewicz breaking SU’s career passing record midway through the second quarter.

In an otherwise flawless performance the OL is flagged for six false starts. In his postgame statement, Babers admits that we have to work on that.

The D pitches a shutout although the Bye offense was described as “ pretty much nonexistent”.

With Dino going deep into his bench in the 4th quarter, Otto the Orange trots onto the field wearing the #44 jersey. With the ball snapped from just outside our own goal line and Otto five yards deep in our own end zone, he takes the pitch and scampers around the right side with nothing but green in front of him. As he crosses midfield, John Wildhack races out and tackles him at the thirty , thus depriving Otto of a 100 yard rushing day. John rips off the #44 jersey, immediately puts it in a lock box, and sprints out of the Dome. He later buries it on the quad in a location known only to Rob Konrad and the Little Family.

A tough and humiliating loss for the plucky Bye team but after
the game their feelings are soothed when the Patriot League chooses them over UCONN for expansion.
