At alien where are you!
Different player altogether.
he was not a "plan c" by that definition. he was a late discovery, didn't even begin playing in the us until december.
What plan was Dolezaj, then? D?If this kid is Plan C then what do we care. Plan C doesn’t mean a kid who slipped through the cracks and fell into our lap like Rony Seikaly. It means a kid we were aware of that we looked at and had far down the list and would only offer if desperate. Plan C’s don’t end up being contributors. Mind you, I didn’t say he was plan C but I think I read it from somebody here.
No the problem is we lost Hop who is an elite recruiter. This years class is solid but really needed a big. It is surprising we whiffed. Hopefully we pick somebody up.
I remember that Hopkins was a little off and had a disagreement about a recruit who was offered (believed tha it was Jordan Tucker) and felt that Syracuse should not go that route. Now believe that then was when he woke up and decided that he saw the writing on the wall about Syracuse head coaching job. That's why I don't think Autry, Allen and GMac are elite recruiters.
I think they do OK, but we have missed on a lot of guys since Mike lost interest, and then left.
That last year that Mike was here, he wasn't really the Mike of old. He was a bit muted, and it showed up in the lack of closing on good players in recruiting.
This was the class that Quade strung us out, did not commit until after the early period had closed, and we were left without a Plan B, and none of those guys who visited with Quade (Bamba and a couple others) signed. We had late visits from a couple Oak Hill guys and turned them away, if you remember. It was a shtt show.
that would be a good point if he hadn't already actively lobbied for the usc job years priorNow believe that then was when he woke up and decided that he saw the writing on the wall about Syracuse head coaching job.
Not true at all.that would be a good point if he hadn't already actively lobbied for the usc job years prior
hop was not as committed to the syracuse job as his mythmakers contend
actual behavior says otherwiseNot true at all.
What isn't true? Hop wanted the USC jobNot true at all.
let's go to the wayback machine and read his own wordsI don’t recall Hop “lobbying” for the USC job. I know JB supported Hop for that job and was publicly upset that USC hired Enfield over Hop.
Meant the final “wake-up call” when he firmly decided to move on. He would have taken the USC job if offered to him back then. Ironic because he would have hired both former SU players that Enfield hired when he got the position.I remember that Hopkins was a little off and had a disagreement about a recruit who was offered (believed tha it was Jordan Tucker) and felt that Syracuse should not go that route. Now believe that then was when he woke up and decided that he saw the writing on the wall about Syracuse head coaching job.
Interesting that Vandy and Creighton are in mix. I'm sure Matt Moyer (Vandy) and Kaleb Joseph (Creighton) will put in a good word for JB if he visits both those places. NOT!!
about 7 foot and 188 lbs pass, I'm over it...
That is true.I’m not sure Id care what those guys think though. They stink.
