Calvin Russell Official / Out Indefinitely

Some saying oh it’s just one wide receiver etc etc. this is the best recruit in the last 20 years ? Watch some of the videos already and this is a massive loss. It’s a loss on the energy and excitement for the offense and All the people that invested to bring this kid to cuse.

I feel for the kid. He was super excited to play football. He was ready to be an immediate impact and I just feel for him.

Anyone that says “he shouldn’t have played basketball”, he was not coming here if he didn’t. Plain and simple

IMO it could lower the offensive ceiling a bit, no doubt. Now the hope is that he recovers well and is ready for next year’s winter workouts. His career isn’t over at all, this is just an obstacle he has to fight through. He’ll be back, and this is far from the end of his story.

The one clip I saw of him in practice he was catching a pass quite clearly limping and slowed down by something. Was this inevitable or should he have been taking it easy with whatever was going on? Obviously if it was truly a freak injury doing stretches or something that is one thing. But if he was trying to go full speed through an injury so far from the start of the season then it feels kind of avoidable. Nightmare either way.

Sounds about right. Good thing we didnt get a top tier receiver in the portal. Also, im fairly certain "indefinite" means out for the season but not sure when to do surgery.

And it begins. Mystery injury. Lingers forever. We never get any info on it. Dude never plays. Then portals.

Sorry am I projecting?
My only real belief in this scenario is if Fran adn the team kill it this season and Coach gets scooped up by a big time program and CR follows. And you know what...I'm pretty ok if thats what happens 😂

I was thinking the same thing. I had no idea if that was his normal Jim Brown gait or not

nothing screams WR 1 like 640 yards and 1 TD in the MAC

We'd noticed our Wheaties were remarkably urine-free this am...
thanks for remedying that!!

Jackson Meeks, AET and Trishton Jackson didn't really do much at their prior schools before arriving at Cuse.

I mean, Charlie Becker was literally Just A Guy for Indiana for most of last year...
until the B10 Championship & Playoffs began.
And then he was basically a cheat code.

but you're right - there's zero chance this dude could be a breakout WR for us.
