I keep getting you and bnoro mixed up.
Probably, since numbers 6 through 9 became usable a couple seasons ago.Is this the first time we've had more single digit numbers than double digits?
That's fine. I've personally played with a lot of football players on the court and they were reckless bulls. I guess that was just my experience. Doesn't mean they didn't somehow benefit from the experience but they were reckless. That’s factually inaccurate. Playing other sports helps specialized athletes in a myriad of ways. Here’s what AI tells us about this.
Yes, playing other sports is excellent for specialized training
because it builds a broader athletic foundation, improves overall athleticism, reduces overuse injuries, prevents burnout, and enhances skills transferable to any sport, leading to better long-term performance, say experts. Diverse movements from different sports create a more complete athlete with better coordination, agility, and decision-making, making them more resilient and adaptable than someone who only practices one sport from a young age, according to sources from Geisinger, The St. James, Pipeline Sports Performance, University Hospitals, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and National Institutes of Health (NIH)
That’s absolutely true as well. But he’s not the typical lineman just swinging bows and pushing people aroundThat's fine. I remember another guy named Russell who wore the number 6, he wasn't to bad.
And you know I understand there is risk with this, but I’m glad they are letting Russell live out his dreams. And him being on the Syracuse Basketball roster is merit based on what he did in High School. He must be loving life. So great that he can do this. He was in high school like two weeks ago.

I think he has probably played basketball his whole lifeIn my minimal experience, athletes playing sports outside what they are skilled in can lead to injuries. Has something to do with fundamentals. Well fundamentally not playing like an out of control spaz. He may have gotten away with it playing little guys but my concern would be that level of energy going against bigger guys. Don't need him getting injured. This is Syracuse after all and we don't get to have nice things.
I had too and changed it lol. My brain is shot todayToo

Great article! I feel like we are entering an exciting time for Syracuse athletics, just feels like its been a while since we've had this much star power on campus (please don't have a stinker against Florida State tonight).
100%. Even, today, in my 40’s, I’d like to think I’m still in good shape. However, I recently took my kids ice skating for the first time in a couple of years and, holy crap, I have soreness in muscles I didn’t know existedThere's a little side convo upthread about cross training sports. It's something that is studied and evaluated by researchers and teams. Most athletes benefit from cross training. There are examples from both early specialization and those who played multiple sports late, but generally the cross training helps develop motor skills and fewer injuries. Also, some kids just want to play as many sports as possible because it's fun. Parents start in with the travel teams as early as 8-10 years old. Aaron Judge was famously a high major football recruit at TE and played the 5 for his HS basketball team as well as being an exceptional pitcher.

Play sheet. Our offense is way too complicated to fit on a wrist.
