Camping World Bowl rep says Syracuse will be 'first team we discuss'

A huge win in terms of the score that dhows up on the ESPN ticker, which will make them 9-3 and get them ranked past all the 9-4 teams and give them. with their ACC QB of the year, the CB. The end.
According to your theory, all 9 win teams should be ranked above 8 win teams. Thing is when I look at the polls and the CFP rankings, it's not how it works at all.

My gut is still saying the same thing it was telling me before I read this article. They want us a lot, but they are worried that a SU vs ISU match-up might be problematic attendance wise. The only factor NC State has over us is "a geographic edge...But picking an unranked team based on geography that might be difficult to justify when the Orange sat at No. 20 in the rankings".

When they talk B12 side they say WVU or ISU is a win-win for them, but here's what they actually say about them: "West Virginia is the most regional and has probably been the team that has played the most frequently. They've played here a lot and we know what they bring. Iowa State was on our board last year. They have a high level of interest as well."

Seems to me they are hoping it's West Virginia from the B12 and if it is they really, really, really want us to be the ACC rep. If it's ISU, then NC State gets more consideration. Not that they will be chosen ahead of us, just that the discussion will be longer than if they don't get the Eers.

Again, that has been my gut feeling since Sunday and it hasn't changed one bit.

Cheers,
Neil

I can say this we absolute certainty, ISU fans and alums would rather go to Alamo Bowl. More of them will travel there than will to Orlando.

Before I read further I want to make a bet with myself as to whether this is true or not.

QUOTE 1
"Syracuse having the only national ranking, outside of Clemson, I think they have to be the first team we discuss," Repchak said. "On paper, record-wise they're the highest team. The other team that I think will get some consideration is North Carolina State. If they win this weekend they'll have a matching record. Until tonight we haven't really compared the two. I don't have a sense if there will be a consensus. That will be interesting to me."
QUOTE 2
(in reference to Pittsburgh as an option) "With Pittsburgh losing to Miami, I don't know," Repchak said. "Even if they beat Clemson this weekend, I'm not sure how that would go."

Matt Repchak is the Citrus Sports PR guy. If you're not a journalist, maybe you don't deal with too many PR people. He's pretty good at his job, as his quote basically says nothing. "It could be them, or it could be that other team. We'll have to wait and see."

If ANYONE is trying to glean some hidden meaning from this you might have better luck trying to draw blood from a rock. It's the absolute perfect non-answer answer, as it always is when you deal with PR people.

ECU is part of the North Carolina University system, I'm sure there getting paid a bundle to lie down and take a beating from NC State. 62-14 or something similar.

You know what's sillier than this statement, that 3439 people have liked what you have had to say. Mind boggling for sure. Must be family members.

And I bet WVU fans would rather go to Orlando than the Alamo bowl. Should be some kind of deal to make.

"We discussed it and decide money is more important. So we go with NC State."

Oh my God. How terrible. Should we report this to NCAA?

1 team is ranked
1 team beat the other
1 team has a dynamic coach
1 team avgs 40
1 team has a crazy QB
1 team is a story

But the other team will bring more money. Much more money.

Since your so clever, why don't you explain this to me. Why would NC State, Ryan Finley or his agent want him to play another meaningless game of college football when he is one of the top QB's in the upcoming draft? He should not even play in the bowl game.

I don't think meds will help here. Now a lobotomy.;)

I have a feeling we might be talking a post lobotomy syndrome here.

Actually, that would be too much of an excuse for behavior that is deliberately antagonistic and premeditated.

if only there was a way for admins to attempt to modify that type of behavior...

bowls seem to take the team that the fans travel the best for ---not the best team.(no surprise there) personally i have been to 2 pinstripe bowls, i am ready for something else ---

By that logic, why should these guys ever play once they’ve established themselves as a top prospect? Play a couple good games and call it a season? Is a bowl game any more “meaningless”’than 99% of the other games?

Nope. I mean NC State will bring much more fans to Orlando. Thus more money to the city.

Umm, no. Even if they did bring a couple thousand more, they don't have any money, thus no money to spend in Orlando for it to be beneficial.
