I wanted to share with all of you that we have made the difficult decision to make a change in the leadership of our men’s basketball program. This decision comes after careful thought and consideration of what we believe is in the best interest of our men’s basketball program and Canisius College.
Tom Parrotta and his staff have worked diligently on behalf of Canisius College and have had a significant impact on our program in a number of areas, and for that, we are grateful. However, our goal is to compete for the MAAC Championship and we have not made sufficient progress toward that goal. I appreciate Tom’s hard work and dedication to Canisius College, the men’s basketball program, and most importantly to our student-athletes.
The goals we have for our men’s basketball program have not changed. We will continue to work to build a men’s basketball program that can compete for MAAC Championships and do so with student-athletes who represent what is best about Canisius College.
I appreciate, very much, the support of our Golden Griffin Alumni, fans and friends. Your ongoing support has been a critical element in the history and tradition of Canisius College Athletics and will be equally important in our future success.
