At 3:00 PM today, 1/9/2025, It was announced on ESPN that Carson Beck, QB Georgia is entering the transfer portal. Thought this would be of interest since HCFB was the DB's coach from GA before becoming our head coach. He has changed course and will not be declaring for the NFL draft.
Carson Beck
QB - UGA - #15
2024 - 2025 season
3,485 Yds
268.1 Y/G
Comp Pct 64.7
TD 28
QB Rat 145.3
His 2024 campaign ended in the SEC championship game when he was injured on a sack just before halftime. Beck did not play in the second half, except for the final play when he handed off to Trevor Etienne for the game-winning touchdown in Georgia's 22–19 win over Texas.
Beck was eventually diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow, sidelining him for the rest of Georgia's season, which ended in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals with a 23–10 loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.
A two-year starter for the Bulldogs, Beck took over for Stetson Bennett after Georgia won two consecutive national championships. During those two seasons, Beck completed 68% of his passes for 7,426 yards and 52 touchdowns.
With his experience and success, Beck is expected to attract a big number in NIL, which surely factored into his decision to play his final season of college eligibility.
Further details if I hear anything.
